I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing on behalf of the Tembisa Drugs
Rehabilitation Movement, a non-profit organization committed to making a positive impact
on our community by helping individuals recover from addiction and regain control of
their lives. We have recently made significant strides in our mission to create a safe and
drug-free environment, as well as provide alternative evidence-based treatment to those
suffering from addiction, regardless of their background.

Our Vision:
Our vision is to reach as many people as we can and provide them with the best services and
meaningful support on their journey to recovery. We also aim to create a safe and drug-free
environment within our community.

Our Mission:
Our mission is to provide alternative evidence-based treatment to those who suffer from the
disease of addiction, irrespective of their age, race, gender, or sexual orientation. We strive to
help them achieve their full potential, providing the necessary support and guidance along the
way.

Our Services:
To achieve our mission, we offer a range of services that include:

• Feeding scheme
• Health education and motivational support
• Weekly detox treatment sessions
• Distribution of donated clothing
• Outreach drug awareness programs in schools and on social media (Facebook: Tembisa
Drug Rehabilitation Movement 1632)
• Success stories of recoveries and employment opportunities for recovered individuals.

Success Stories:
We are proud to share our success stories, with 10 individuals who have successfully
recovered from addiction and some of them gaining employment. These recovered
individuals now serve as motivating role models for others seeking recovery.

Our Challenges:
Despite our achievements, we face several challenges. Recreational spaces in our community
are vandalized, leading to increased drug abuse among youths. The high number of new
attendees on a weekly basis depletes our resources rapidly.

Due to limited resources, we can only hold sessions once a week, which hinders recovery
progress. The majority of our attendees come from socially and economically disadvantaged
families, often going without food on days they do not attend.

Our Objectives:
To address these challenges, we are seeking support from individuals and organizations who
share our vision. We aim to have an aftercare program for recovered addicts, providing them
with survival skills and handwork training. We also intend to expand our sessions to occur
daily, keeping attendees engaged and fed, reducing the risk of relapse.

What We Need:
To make these objectives a reality, we are seeking donations and sponsorship in the form
of:
• Groceries (enough to feed attendees daily)
• Detox medication (magnets, patches, acupuncture needles, swabs)
• Drug testing kits
• Gas filling (for cooking)
• Petrol for transport

Tools and equipment for skills training we need:

We are seeking support for a range of essential tools and equipment required for skills
training, including woodworking and metalworking tools, as well as various power tools
such as:

• Power saws (e.g., circular saw, table saw, mitre saw)

• Routers and trimmers
• Drills and impact drills
• Nail/staple guns
• Welding equipment (Mig welder, inverter arc welder)
• Sanders
• Compressors and associated accessories
• Workbenches
• Drill bits and router bits
• Circular saw blades

and expand our services to better serve those in need.
