Statement of the Problem

This study intends to determine the level of

privacy and cybersecurity hazards in online banking
knowledge among customers of local banks Within
Jose Rizal University
1.What are the major shortcomings in the
educational programs or resources that these
banks offer to educate their customers about the
best practices and possible risks related with
online banking in terms of:

1.1Technological Literacy

 Clients who are more technologically

literate are likely to have a better
understanding of the risks associated
with internet banking. This can be
influenced by factors such as age,
educational background, and
profession.
1.2 Human Factor Vulnerabilities:
This is the most common one cybersecurity risk
that are associated with human behavior, actions,
or decisions within an organization. These
vulnerabilities can arise from various factors,
including lack of awareness, errors, or malicious
intent and evena simple carelessness

1.3 Inadequate Emphasis on Cybersecurity

a situation where an organization or institution of
the bank does not give sufficient attention,
resources, or priority to protecting its digital assets
and information systems from cyber threats.
1.4 Delayed Detection and Response
 the late in identifying and addressing security
incidents or breaches after they have occurred.
This delay can have significant consequences, as
it provides malicious actors more time to carry
out their attacks

2.What security measures do respondents
currently have in place to protect their online
banking accounts
2.1 Strong password
 Using complex passwords that include a
combination of upper and lower case
letters, numbers, and special characters.
Avoid using easily guessable information
like birthdays or names.
2.2 Enabling multi-factor authentication
 adds an extra layer of security by
requiring users to provide a second form
of authentication
2.3 Regular monitoring account activity
 Regularly reviewing account statements
and transaction histories for any
unauthorized or suspicious activity.
WOULD LESSIN THE RISK OF
GETTING SCAM

2.4 Security Alerts and Notifications

 Setting up alerts for specific account
activities SUCH AS large withdrawals
AND login attempts to receive
immediate notification of potentially
fraudulent actions.
THE last one would be

3.What Are the predominant privacy and

cybersecurity risks that Philippine local banks
face when it comes to online banking in Jose
Rizal university?

3.1Rising Sophistication of Attacks:

Since we are now living in a techno age where
technology is being develop from time to time
sophistication of cyberattacks perpetrated is also
getting more and more dangerous
3.2 Malware and Ransomware
Banks can be targeted by malware or ransomware
attacks that aim to compromise systems, steal data, or
encrypt files for ransom.
3.3 Phishing Attacks
This one is the most common attacks that trick bank
customers or employees into revealing sensitive
information like login credentials or personal details
one of the example is clicking an unknown website
online
3.4 Lack of Advanced Threat Detection and
Response
This is a significant cybersecurity concern. It refers to
the absence or inadequacy of sophisticated tools,
technologies, and strategies to identify and effectively
respond to advanced and evolving cyber threats
