Authorisation of Prices for the Supply of Bread (Wholesale and Retail) in Fiji
2022

Pursuant to section 39 and section 41 of the Fijian Competition and Consumer

Commission Act 2010 and the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (Bread)
(Wholesale and Retail) Order 2022, the Commission hereby makes the following
Authorisation.
Citation and commencement

1. This Authorisation may be cited as the Authorisation of Prices for the Supply of Bread
(Wholesale and Retail) in Fiji 2022 and is effective from 13 May 2022.

Maximum prices

2. (a) Subject to sub paragraph (b) below, the prices set out in schedule 1 to Schedule 8
herein are the maximum retail or wholesale price, as the case may be, at which the
goods mentioned therein may be sold in the areas so specified in the schedules.

(b) Where the maximum price of an item listed in the schedules is required to be
rounded up to the nearest whole number by reason of the cessation of the 1 cent and
2 cents denominations, the consequential increase in the price of that item does not
constitute a contravention of this Authorisation.

Value Added Tax (VAT)

3. A Trader must state Value Added Tax (VAT) separately in the invoice provided at the time
of sale.

Packaging

4. Except where otherwise stated, prices referred to in paragraph 2 include the cost of
packaging.

Weights and Measurements

5. The weights or measurements stated in all columns headed “Quantity” in any Schedule to
this Authorisation are the net weights or measurements of the goods referred to and do not
include the weight or measurement of any packaging.

Prices to be marked or displayed

6. Any person having for sale by retail any of the goods specified in any schedule to this
Authorisation must cause the same to be legibly and conspicuously marked with the
maximum retail price for the information of the public.

SCHEDULE 1
THE CITIES OF SUVA AND LAUTOKA, THE TOWNS OF BA, LAMI, NADI, SIGATOKA, TAVUA,
NAUSORI AND NASINU AND THE AREAS ON THE ISLAND OF VITI LEVU WITHIN A RADIUS OF 5
KILOMETRES FROM ANY OF THE POST OFFICES SITUATED AT KOROVOU, NAVUA OR
RAKIRAKI.
