Tsimis roams around that several Revenue District Officers of the Bureau of Internal Revenue are offering their

professional services as tax consultants and protectors of taxpayers interests and intentions. Tsimis told ETM that professional fees of these RDO range from 25,000 up to 50,000 pesos a month. In return, taxpayers availing this QUESTIONABLE SERVICE shall neither receive Letters of Authority, nor included in any tax mapping and inventory surveillance activities of the BIR. Not only these RDO directly compete with the scenario being offered by private CPAs, Lawyers and other persons but they deprive the State to collect the correct amount of taxes from their client-taxpayers. UNACCEPTABLE. UNFAIR. ILLEGAL. MUST BE STOPPED. The BIR Commissioner must stop this irregular practice by removing the right of the RDO to collate tax returns and choose therefrom who shall be included from the list of audit candidate, indentify and choose what particular street or location shall be tax-mapped; pick the names of the taxpayers to be surveyed whether covert or overt; and single-handedly negotiate the reduction of taxes.

These suggestions are so important so as not the trust and the confidence of the taxpayer as a class shall be eroded to lowest level.

Those who have been offered by any RDO of the same services, please report ETMTax Agent Office so that such can be forwarded to the Ombudsman for the conduct of preliminary investigation and lifestyle check.
