1. Based on our present situation, how does taxation can be a big help to
humanities in terms of fostering equality to all. Explain

In this time of pandemic, businesses are closing down. They are limiting
their employees because of the expenses and in order for them to gain
profit. Individual are having a hard time finding a job to sustain their daily
living or their family. Some employees have salary that is only enough to
sustain their lives and cannot afford to pay much tax. Taxes should be
proportion to the taxpayer’s ability to pay. This is also known as Equality
or Theoretical Justice. This supports the Ability to Pay Theory. This theory
states that the richer you are, the high the tax you will pay and if one only
earns a minimum wage, that person will pay less tax than the former. This
can be a big help to the people, more importantly to those individuals that
cannot pay a high tax.

2. Given the chance to become president of the Philippines, what will be your
greatest contribution to make the Filipino people lives burden free.

I would propose to lower Value-added tax (VAT) on essential goods and

increase the tax on the products that are vices and damaging the health of
an individual like cigarette, alcohol, etc. This proposal will balance the
consumption of the people on essential goods and vices. This will also
lessen the death rate in the country. This will be advantageous to the
people in the country because they will think twice before buying the
products that are vices that can damage their health because of its high tax
and will focus more on buying essential goods that can help in preserving
their health. This can also be a big help to the government if an individual
still buy vices even if it contains high tax, the tax will go to the funds of
the projects of government or it can be a big help to the people or families
that doesn’t have enough resources to sustain their living
