How to Study the Bible (Sir Edgar Sibonga)
DEVOTIONAL STUDY FORM
Date: October 12, 2023 Passage: Psalm 34:9
1- Prayer ¥
2- Meditation
“O fear the Lord,..” — Means to love the Lord (Psalm 31:23), to stand in,
‘awe of Him (Psalm 33:8), to glorify Him (Psalm 22:3)
& to trust Him wholeheartedly (Psalm 40:3),
“ye his saints:” — The saved ones. Those that accepted Jesus Christ as
their personal Lord & Savior.
“..for there isno want to — It doesn’t mean that if you fear the Lord, your life
them that fear him.” will be free from problems & hardships. This is an
affirmation that His grace is sufficient when you put
your trust in Him & glorify Him in your life. There
should be no reason for you to complain because
God knows your needs, He will strengthen you
spiritually, & He will provide what is necessary to
support your everyday needs.
3- Application
| will apply this Scripture as | deal with our day-to-day trials, specifically in handling my
emotions towards these difficulties, which easily make me anxious. Because when | get
anxious, my mood changes, which affects how I get through the day, & | even become
toxic at some point, | also realized that singing hymns helps me ease my anxieties. | will
start for the remainder of this month; | will determine to steer away from being anxious
when perplexed by our daily trials by singing hymns, whether in my mind or aloud. In
this way, | will also remind myself to wholeheartedly put my trust in God & to glorify
Him day by day.
4- Memorization
“O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.”
(Psalm 34:9)
5- Prayer
Thank you, Lord, for always being there to remind me that your sustaining grace will
always be sufficient as we live day by day. Help me to wholeheartedly trust You in any
circumstances, but especially when trials become too much to handle. | will praise you
always by singing hymns.
