BY COUNCILMAN
WHEREAS, the City of Midland has studied the potential restoration of two-way traffic on
Ashman and Rodd Streets between Cambridge Street and Ann Street; and
WHEREAS, on July 10, 2023 City Council referred the restoration project to the Center City
Authority, Downtown Development Authority, and Planning Commission for review and
recommendation; and
WHEREAS, at their meeting on September 13, 2023 the Downtown Development Authority
Board adopted a resolution recommending the two-way restoration project; and
WHEREAS, at their meeting on September 20, 2023 the Center City Authority Board adopted a
resolution recommending the two-way restoration project; and
WHEREAS, at their meeting on October 10, 2023 the Planning Commission adopted a
resolution recommending the two-way restoration project; and
WHEREAS, the record of information on the project, including the various plans, reports, and
studies and public input received, demonstrates that the restoration of two-way traffic will
provide efficient traffic flow and support the future growth and prosperity of the City; now
therefore
RESOLVED, that City Council authorizes City staff to restore two-way traffic on Ashman Street
between Ann Street and Cambridge Street and Rodd Street from E. Main Street to Cambridge
Street.
