Mixers, Vibrators, Lime Mixer will be given to the contractor free of rent subject to their availabilty. The contractor will arrange fuel for running of machines on his own responsibilty Lubricant and general maintenance of the machine will be the responsibility of the department. Condition - 2 {twill be necessary for the contractor to make use of these machines i.e. C.C. mixers, vibrator, lime pan mixer, 5 % deductions in rates will be made in case the work is done without use of these machines when they are available for use. Condition - 3 ‘The rates include material for centering / shuttering, scafolding, (unless otherwise specifically ‘mentioned in particular items), sundries, gurus, nails, bail Guru, carborandum stone, mansion polish, oxalic acid, saw dust, brushes, wooden gules, small springs for fxing of glass pans etc. Condition - 4 Department will arrange the source of water near site. The rates ofall items except plaster and R.C.C. work are inclusive of curing, Condition - 5 Contractor willbe allowed to use empty cement bags for curing purposes. No recovery for empty cement bags so used will be made, subject to a maximum of 20% of cement bags used in the ‘work. Ail other empty bags will have to be returned in good condition, otherwise recovery at the rate of 2 rupees per bag will be made from the bill of contractor. Condition - 6 Separate rates have been fixed for centering and shuttering and pouring of concrete in the present schedule of rate. In these rates material for centering shuttering wil be given by the department Condition - 7 ‘Wherever the word fine sand occurs in this schedule of rate, it wll mean the sand of fineness modulus 1.25 Ghagra / Ganga sand, which has lower fineness modulus will be blended with coarse ‘sand in suitable proportions to achieve this fineness modulus. Deviation on the basis of experience and P.W.D. Skelton has been made where ever considered necessary. ‘The consumption of important materials for major tems of works, which form the basis of this schedule are annexed, 2. Carriage and taxes -: The rates are inclusive of carriage from the place of issue or the nearest place of availabilty. Local taxes are, also included in the rates of materials, taken into account in working out the rates of the items, The rates, are however not inclusive of toll paid on bridges. If any such toll charges have to be paid, the same may be paid extra to contractor after due verification 3+ Specifications -: The items entered in this schedule are to be executed according to the public works department detailed specifications. Where no specifications are available, work is to be carried out in ‘accordance with the normal practice but in framing an estimate or tender papers, Adhishasi Abhiyanta, ‘should add detailed specifications of his own for any work of importance, which is not covered, by the .W.D. book specifications. 4- Interpretation of Schedule of Rates -: As communicated in Chief Engineer's circular No. 19PWi45 M- 58 dated April 20, 1964; the expression schedule of rate as used in clause 12 of G.P.W. form 9 shall mean the schedule of rate which is current on the date, on which the order to take up extra item is given to the Contractor. 5- (a) - The Adhishasi Abhiyantas are requested to mention the names of the approved quarries in the special condition for the approved stone and approved coarse sand to avoid anomally at later stages during execution, (0}- Ribbed Tor Steel - Ribbed-tor-stee! is cold twisted deformed bar for concrete reinforcement conforming to IS-1786 and is available in standard dia meters of 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 25, 2, 32, 36, 40, 45, 50mm. As per IS 456-1968 permissible stresses are as below. In tension up to 20mm dia, 2300 kgicm? (33,000 PS!) In tension above 20mm dia. 2100 kglem* (30,000 PS!) In Compression 1750 kg/cm? (25,000 PS!) In Share 1750 kg/cm? (25,000 PSI) 6- Chapter IV Earthwork and Excavation -: (a) Lead is measured form the centre of the area of ‘excavation to the centre of the bank of spoil heap. Earthwork in excavation of foundation is calculated by taking the dimensions of each trench. Filing in trenches after the construction of foundation ‘masonary is neglected. Earth filing in plinth is calculated by taking the internal dimension in between plinth wall, and height is taken after deducting the thickness of floor. 7- Chapter V -: Concrete - R.C.C. staircase will be paid against S.|. 284, 285 and 288 in chapter V as the case may be according to actual execution. 8- Chaptor VI -: Brickwork: rates include cutting of bricks as necessary for proper bond and for forming all splays, angles etc, and also for rounding all exterior and interior angles. The brickwork is to be ‘measured in thickness as mentioned in the plans. 9- Chapter IX wood work - (a) Chaukhat - Extreme measurements for all scantiings will be made. For ‘example a chaukhat of section 10cm x 12.6cm and for 1.20cm x 2.1m, Opening will be measured as 84m x 10cm x 12,50cm, (b}- Leaves - Will be measured closed inside the chaukhat, no allowance being made for overlap. GC Sa Scanned with CamScanner @ The following tolerances in woodwork shall be allowed as communicated by chief Engineer's circular No, - 7 P.W, dated Lucknow February 24, 1960 as amended vide 36 PWIR-N10-665-M dt October 22, 1962. () Tolerances up to 2mm may be allowed in any or all dimensions of the finished wood work without any deduction in measurements of the size specified, unless net measurements are specially prescribed in any work requiring exact sizes without any tolerance, (i) Variations exceeding 2mm and up to &mm in any or all cross sectional dimensions in the case of wood work wrought, framed and fixed and uplo 4mm in the case of thickness of door and window shutters may be permitted, but the measurement should then be recorded for the actual sizes, not ‘exceeding the sizes specified, unless exact net sizes are specifically prescirbed in any special work. (ii) Woodwork having variation of more than &mm in cross sectional dimensions in case of wrought wood work and more than 4mm in case of thickness of door and window shutter be rejected unless allowed by the written orders of the Executive Engineer who will record the reasons for the same under intimation to the Superintending Engineer Concerned. (iv) The Tolerances and restricions specified above shall not be applicable to the length of scantings or to the breadth and height. In case of door and window leaves, they will be measured as actual. (c)- Fittings - As communicated in Chief Engineer's letter no. 6639 NBRG/72CWIS6 dated December 20, 1963 and 3092/72PWIS6, dated june 4, 1964, the following shall be kept in view for payment of fitings as per S.1, Nos. 471, 472, 473 and 474 {i) The rates provided in these items are for estimating purpose, fitings with screws should be supplied 43mm over Kail wood timber lframe of size 5Omm.x 38mm] section and suspended from| lthe roof with help of flat iron] hangers of size 20mm x 4mm| Jon under side leaving an| lexpansion gap of 6mm and lwith provision for providing} necessary lighting _fixture| including three coats of flat oil paint of approved quality and shade and a coat of pink lprimericopal varnish on the side, facing the roof as per direction given by the Engineer -charge.
