Wiring Information for

Older 102-3 Tank Monitoring Systems with LP and

Smart 102-3 Tank Monitoring Systems with LP
(If you do not have LP then there will not be a red wire)

*Note: The wiring between the pigtail harness at the panel and the wiring at the sensors was
selected by the installer and therefore may not be the same colors as listed here. This wiring list
is the colors coming out of the wiring pigtail harness on the 3 Tank with LP set-up only. If you
have a 4 Tank without LP, please see our tech support page to get the wiring information.
If you are not sure if you have a 3 Tank with LP or a 4 Tank, you can count the silver fingers on the circuit
board going into the wiring harness; 9 for a 3 Tank w/ LP and 12 for a 4 Tank.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ORIGINAL OWNERS’ MANUAL INCLUDES WIRING INFORMATION FOR A 4 TANK PANEL. THIS IS A
SUPPLEMENT FOR THAT MANUAL. ALL OTHER INSTRUCTIONS ARE IDENTICAL.

Wires colors coming from the sensor (unless you have a Hunter Boat) are:
Red: This is the voltage signal coming from the Panel (depending on your panel it could be
either 10 volts or the current battery power voltage)
Blue: This is the signal sent back to the panel from the sensor (this signal will vary between 0-5
volts with full usually being somewhere around 3)
Black: This is the ground wire (all tanks can be connected together and grounded if needed)
• Note on sensors – voltage can only be read at the sensor when signal is being sent down
to the sensor from the panel or other source. You can get more in depth testing
procedures on our web site at www.tankedge.com in the tech support section.
