Level I Thermography

LEVEL I THERMOGRAPHY TRAINING

The Level I Infrared Thermography Training Course is geared to the new infrared camera user and focuses on its use for
a variety of condition monitoring/predictive maintenance applications. Attendees completing all training course
requirements and a thermography field assignment will receive a Level I Infrared Thermography Certification.

INFRARED COURSE BENEFITS

• Introduction to thermal imaging and measurement systems for predictive maintenance applications. No
experience in thermography is necessary!
• Collect quality data, accurate temperature readings, and account for measurement effects such as distance and
emissivity using infrared cameras.
• Interpret thermograms and make informed decisions using heat transfer concepts to analyze thermal images, and
learn to use the latest in infrared inspection report generation and analysis software.
• Avoid costly mistakes - learn to distinguish between hot spots and reflections, direct vs. indirect readings and
qualitative vs. quantitative thermography.
• Challenge yourself with field applications labs that closely simulate real-world infrared applications.

TUITION
A registration fee of $2,200 USD includes course instruction, course materials, and certification. Please note that prices
may vary for courses conducted outside the United States.

CERTIFICATION / ACCREDITATION
The learning objectives, contact hours, and written exam of ITC's Level I course are based on the requirements outlined
by ANSI/ASNT CP-105 of the American Society for Non-Destructive Testing. As such, this course is suitable for use by
your employer to certify you under ASNT's Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A provided it is consistent with your
employer's Written Practice.
• 32 hours (24 ITC certification renewal credits)
• Building Performance Institute, Inc. has approved this course for 16.5 BPI continuing education units.
• InterNACHI approved for 32 CEU's.
• This course is eligible for 32 NETA Continuing Technical Development Credits (CTDs).

INSTRUCTORS
Infrared courses are developed and taught by ITC's Level III, ASNT Level III, or EPRI Level III Instructors. ITC's domestic
and international training staff includes several Level III thermographers certified by ASNT and BINDT with over 100 years
combined infrared thermography applications experience. The Level I infrared training courses are taught by certified
instructors with extensive experience in a wide variety of infrared thermography and thermal imaging applications.

SOFTWARE TRAINING
A general overview of analysis software is provided by the instructor during the course. We also offer free training for
many software products at http://www.irtraining.com.

CAMERA TRAINING
Our instructor led training classes cover basic camera operation. We highly recommend you take one of our on-line web
courses (http://www.irtraining.com) for your specific FLIR camera before coming to class.
Please note on-line training may not be available for some camera models. If an on-line course is not offered for your
camera type please refer to your user's manual. Prior camera setup and operator training is not required to attend Level I,
but it is highly recommended to get the most benefit from the course.
