The linical efficacy and the quality of the Ribes nigrum buds extract depends of the harvesting in optimal development stage. For establish the optimal harvesting time there were performed biometrical, microscopic and phytochemical studies. This poster present the biometric, microscopic and UV-Vis spectral studies on Ribes nigrum L. buds harvested from an organic culture established in Cluj county, Romania. The harvesting was pevformed at the middle of December 2016, January, February respectively March 2017. The apical buds increase in length from December to March from 6.75 to 17.84 mm and the axilars from 5.82 to 13.11 mm. The microscopic study highlight thé meristem development and differentiation during the last month. The total phenolic acids content, expressed in caffeic acid, decrease from 251 to 043 mg/ml from December to March. ‘The total flavonoids content, expressed in rutoside, decrease from 3.83 to 0.67 mg/ml until February, than increase at the buds opening to 0.82 mg/ml. The studies lead us to conclude thatthe optimal harvesting time of the Rubes nigrum buds for a good quality extract is around February until the begin of March. jected FIRST INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF DANUBE 7 REGION BOTANICAL GARDENS Nitg/iicsis teas ‘Transdisciplinarty in Plant Science P19, Antibacterian Activity of Spruce Bark (Picea abies L.) Extract Against Escherichia coli Tanase C., Oroian S, Cosarea S., ‘Toma F, Mare A, Man A. University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Tirgu Mures, ROMANIA ‘The increase of antibiotic resistant bacteria in last years result in limited options for treatment of bacterial diseases. Escherichia coli is, one of the most common Gram negative bacterial pathogen causing, community and hospital acquired infections, Medicinal plants are alternative rich source of useful antibacterial agents. The antimicrobial activities of the spruce (Picea abies L.) bark polyphenolic extracts were examined for their capacity to inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli ATCC 25922. Spruce bark extract was obtained hy the conventional aqueous ext-action and with ultrasounds. For the determination of ‘minimum inhibitory concentration was used microdilution technique. ‘The antibacterial effect of both extracts was stronger against scherichia coli. The effect of polyphenolic extracts on Escherichia coli was at a concentration of 15 mg/ml Antimicrobial activities of compounds from the spruce bark, can be suggested the use of spruce bark in pharmaceutical preparation P20.
