Route Plan / Itinerary


Use this framework to set attainable goals and plan each step of your journey. Complete this table for each day of your journey.
Navigation can be summarised under the 4 D’s:
Destination Where is your next checkpoint? Checkpoints are a great opportunity for a well earnt snack and rest break (allocate approximately 1 each hour)
Distance How far (in kilometers) until you reach your next checkpoint?
Duration How long will it take you?
Description What will you see along the way? Describe exactly what you will see e.g. bends in the river, track intersections etc.
When plotting the route on your map be sure to identify and record points of interest. These typically include natural formations such as rivers, lakes,
mountains and valleys and human-made features such as roads, dams and buildings.
