1.3.3 Auditory Visual Integration

INTEGRATION OF AUDITORY AND VISUAL MOTION CUES

Given the differences in the neural representation of motion in the auditory and visual systems, it
is interesting to consider how the information from the two modalities could be combined to
improve Motion perception.

Psychophysical studies have investigated audio visual motion integration in humans using motion
detection tasks, and have provided valuable insights into how auditory and visual motion can be
integrated in the brain.

Some of these studies have reported that humans perform better in audio visual motion tasks
compared to unimodal tasks, but there is disagreement as to whether this increase in performance
is statisticallyoptimal’’ortheresultof probabilitysummation.

When probability summation occurs, observers Perform better on bimodal trials because they
essentially have two chances to answer correctly—using either the visual or the auditory cue
(Wuerger et al., 2003; Alais and Burr, 2004)

What a Teacher Can Do with Integration of Auditory and Visual Motions?

Teacher can do the followings:

1. Develop interest among students

2. Maintain the best teaching methodology in class.
3. Delivering the active instructions
4. Showing Interest of himself/herself.
5. Activities based learning
6. Positive Feedback
7. Let the Child to do the task at their own.
8. Encouragements for The Students
9. Praise or reward for students.
10. Using Auditory Visual senses combine for learning purpose
