b) Perform two iterations of the Bairstow method to extract a quadratic factor 𝑥 2 +
𝑝𝑥 + 𝑞 from the polynomial 𝑃3 𝑥 = 𝑥 3 + 𝑥 2 − 𝑥 + 2 = 0.
12. a) Determine the Euclidean and the maximum absolute row sum norms of the matrix

18. Solve the Gauss-seidal method 2𝑥1 − 𝑥2 + 0𝑥3 = 7, −𝑥1 + 2𝑥2 − 𝑥3 = 1, 0𝑥1 − 𝑥2 +
2𝑥3 = 1.
19. Solve the problem 𝑢′ = −2𝑡𝑢2 , 𝑢 0 = 1 with ℎ = 0.2, use the fourth order Runge-
kutta method.
20. Explain Taylor-series method.
