ABSTRACT

This study discussed the Challenges that the Small-Medium sized Food Businesses
encounter during the Pandemic and how firms effectively turn turmoil into something they
would benefit greatly. This research seeks to help future entrepreneurs understanding the
complexities of how to cope with these difficulties and to be more prepared for any
unpredictable events that will affect their operations. Also, this research aims to supervise
potential businesses in determining how to transform economic difficulties into
opportunities. This study employs a narrative analysis design to conduct in-depth interviews
with a company owner or manager who can share their experiences. This study also found
that businesses have problems, including financial uncertainty, reduced retail hours, and a
higher health risk. On the other hand, companies have discovered a way to grow their
businesses by offering food delivery through applications and implementing innovative
marketing tactics. Furthermore, this study concludes that we cannot prevent uncertainties
from occurring; thus, we must be prepared and resilient in order to respond to any changes
or disturbances that can arise. As a response, we must be proactive and innovative in
identifying solutions to adversities.
