In this essay it is paramount to first define curriculum and curriculum dimensions.

Different
scholars defined curriculum in many different ways according to their articles and studies. A
carefully considered focus on defining the curriculum establishes a fundamental basis for the
discussion. Firstly, Bobbitt (1918) provides an authoritative definition of curriculum as “that
series of things which children and youth must do and experience by way of developing
abilities to do the things well that make up the affairs of adult life; and to be in all respects
what adults should be.” In addition, Stenhouse (1975) defined curriculum as "an attempt to
communicate the essential principles and features of an educational proposal in such a form
that it is open to critical scrutiny and capable of effective translation into practice." Besides
that Oliver (1977) understood the curriculum as “the educational program of the school”. And
lastly according to Smith(1957), he stipulates that it is “A sequence of potential experiences
set up in the school for the purpose of disciplining children and youth in group ways of
thinking and acting". In my simple ways, I take curriculum to be a set of educational
experiences and materials designed to achieve specific learning goals and outcomes within an
educational program.

Curriculum dimensions are the different aspects of a curriculum that are used to describe and
evaluate it as defined from the SAGE publications where I agree with it 100%.Taylor and
Francis (1977) also explain that the dimensions of content openness and assessment are
closely associated with outcomes of the curriculum characteristics Curriculum is divided into
four basic elements: program of studies, program of experiences, program of service, hidden
curriculum according to Oliver(1977). To further elaborate that curriculum dimensions are the
formal, informal, non-formal and guidance & counseling. Together, all these dimensions form
a comprehensive framework that guides the educational journey of students, promoting their
all-encompassing growth in academic, vocational, and social domains as elaborated here:
