IMPORTANT INFORMATION / STEPS FOR APPEARING IN PROFICIENCY TEST / FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR PROFICIENCY TEST (FAQs)

1. An Online Proficiency Test of two (02) hours (120 minutes) duration comprising 100 MCQs (20 MCQs per Section, for 5 Sections) is conducted before
the Orientation Program, OR during the Orientation Program, OR as per University Notification/E-mail (whichever information is latest) to assess
your academic preparedness for the programme you are enrolled in. The Online Proficiency Test is essential part of your Registration and Orientation
Programme, and it is conducted for new joinees.

2. Students can give the Online Proficiency Test at any time (24x7) as per their convenience within the already announced date(s) i.e. before the Orientation
Program, OR during the Orientation Program, OR as per University Notification/E-mail (whichever information is latest). Date and Time of the
Proficiency Test will not be extended from the given date(s) and timings. Therefore, students are advised to complete it within the given time period.

3. There are Total five (05) Sections/Subjects in every Online Proficiency Tests, in which two (02) Sections/Subjects are ‘Common’ i.e. “English
Communication” and “IT Application”. And remaining three (03) Sections/Subjects of Proficiency Tests are called as “Area Specific Sections/Subjects”.

4. Details of two (02) Common Sections/Subjects of the Proficiency Test on the basis of Engineering and Non-Engineering Domains are as under:

5. The difficulty level of all the five (05) Sections/Subjects (two Common Subjects + three Area Specific Subjects) of the Online Proficiency Test is based on
the ‘Eligibility Criteria’ of the Programme(s) in which students have taken admission at Amity.

6. The essential/required/main subjects of ‘Eligibility Criteria’ of the Programme(s) in which students have taken admission at Amity/ OR the main/core subjects
studied by the students in their immediate previous Degree/Diploma/Certificate Programme will be the “Area Specific Sections/Subjects” of Proficiency
Test. The two (02) Common Subjects “English Communication” and “IT Application” will also be of the same level, i.e. for the students of Undergraduate
Programmes, the level of MCQs of Proficiency Test will be of 12th Class (+2) standard, and for the students of Postgraduate Programmes, the level of MCQs of
Proficiency Test will be of Undergraduate standard.
7. Online Proficiency Test is designed for Engineering and Non-Engineering Postgraduate (PG) and Undergraduate (UG) students separately depending upon
the ‘Eligibility Criteria’ applicable for the admission of the Programme(s).

8. Following is the General Format of Proficiency Test for Engineering and Non-Engineering Postgraduate (PG) and Undergraduate (UG) students of the
University:

Example - 1: Like for admission into B.Tech Programmes (Undergraduate Programme) of Engineering Domain of the University, the ‘Eligibility Criteria’
has essential/required/main subjects as PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) at 12th Class. Therefore, the composition/level/standard of Proficiency
Test for the students of B.Tech Programmes of Engineering Domain is as under:

‘Eligibility Criteria’ has essential/required/main subjects as PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) at 12th Class. Therefore, the composition/level/standard
of Proficiency Test for the students of B.Tech Programmes of Biosciences & Biotechnology Domain is as under:

Example - 3: For admission into BBA Programmes (Undergraduate Programme) of Management Domain of the University, almost all the students have
studied Business Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Economics, and Accounting at 12th Class. In this case, the Proficiency Test is a kind of revision for
them. A few students, who haven’t studied Business Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Economics, and Accounting at +2 level, the Proficiency Test checks
the academic preparedness of the students for BBA Programme. Therefore, the composition/level/standard of Proficiency Test for the students of BBA
Programmes of Management Domain is as under:

Example - 4: For admission into MBA Programmes (Postgraduate Programme) of Management Domain of the University, almost all the students have
studied Business Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Economics, and Accounting at Under graduation. In this case, the Proficiency Test is a kind of revision
for them. A few students, who haven’t studied Business Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Economics, and Accounting at +2 level, the Proficiency Test
checks the academic preparedness of the students for MBA Programme. Therefore, the composition/level/standard of Proficiency Test for the students of MBA
Programmes of Management Domain is as under:

9. In addition to above explained General Format of the Proficiency Test for Engineering and Non-Engineering Postgraduate (PG) and Undergraduate (UG)
students, there are a few Programmes for which composition of Proficiency Test is different, and it is based upon the ‘Eligibility Criteria’ of admission.

10. Proficiency Test isn’t conducted for a few Programmes viz. M.Tech (Weekend), Ph.D, M.Phil, Diploma in Clinical Embryology (DCE), Diploma in Clinical
ART (DCR), Psy.D (Clinical Psychology), and Professional Diploma in Clinical Psychology.

11. The difficulty level of one of the Common Subject “IT Application” is different for the Postgraduate and Undergraduate students of “Engineering” and
“Non-Engineering” Programmes.

12. The difficulty level of “IT Application” is slightly low for the students admitted into Non-Engineering Programmes of the University in comparison of the
students admitted into Engineering Programmes.
13. Each MCQs has four (04) Options as answers, in which One Option is the Correct Answer. A Student has to Tick on Correct Answer [ ], for which s/he will
get marks. There will be No Negative Marking.

14. Details of Subjects of Proficiency Test are available on Registration and Orientation Information Page, and the details of text books/study material needed
for preparation will be available on Student Amizone Accounts as Pre-reads.

15. Students are advised to follow following steps to have a better experience of the Proficiency Test:

16. Use of laptop/desktop/MacBook/iPad is recommended for giving Proficiency Test. Please try to avoid mobile phones, because you may face hang/slow
test issues.

17. The URL for login into online Proficiency Test will be https://assessment.amizone.net and this will be active on the date of your Proficiency Test. The User
Name and Password to appear in the online Proficiency Test will be the Amizone ID and Password of Amizone ID of a New Joinee.
18. Students have to click on “To Attend” tab and then “Start” button to start the Proficiency Test, which will then automatically be closed after two (02) hours
from its start time. After clicking on “Start”, the Proficiency Test Questions Page will be opened, where a New Joinee has to mark his/her answers online.

19. Important - Please note that if a New Joinee has “logged” into the Proficiency Test i.e. has clicked on “Start” button, please don’t do “log out” without
attempting the test, because if you will do “log out”, the test will automatically be closed after 2 hrs from its start time and you will not be able to
re-attempt the test. Therefore, please click on “Start” button only when you want to give the Proficiency Test.

20. After clicking on “Start”, the Proficiency Test Questions Page will be opened, where a New Joinee has to mark his/her answers online. Marked answer
automatically converts into Green colour from Grey colour. After completion of the Proficiency Test, you have to click on the “Submit Quiz” (Bottom at
Right hand side) to know your result/score. Result of Proficiency Test will also be visible to students on their Amizone accounts under “Proficiency Result”
tab visible in the left hand-side Menu Bar.

21. Please note that you have to do a final click on “Submit Quiz” before “Sign Out” for final submission of your Proficiency Test, because such test will not be
counted/evaluated by the system if anyone doesn’t follow this step.
22. After successful online submission of Proficiency Test (Submit Quiz) and before “Sign Out”, please click on “Already Attended” tab, and a final page
will give you exact information about the Quiz Name, Total Number of Questions, Correct Answers, Incorrect Answers, Not Attempted Questions and
score. Correct Answers will be the Result/Score for a particular New Joinee, and there will be No Negative marking. Result of Proficiency Test will also be
visible to students on their Amizone accounts under “Proficiency Result” tab visible in the left hand-side Menu Bar.
23. Minimum passing criteria for each subject/section of the Proficiency Test is 60%. Means a student having minimum 60% marks in each subject/section of
his/her Proficiency Test will be declared as “Pass” in his/her Proficiency Test.

24. Based on result of Proficiency Test, a Bridge Course will be conducted for those students who have received less than 60% marks in Area Specific
Section(s)/ Subject(s) of Proficiency Test. The class schedule of Bridge Courses will be accessible to students on Amizone.

25. A Proficiency Test will again be conducted on completion of Bridge Course to help you to improve your basics wherever needed for better learning experiences
during the Programme. Further “English Communication” skills and “IT Application” skills of the students will be improved through inbuilt assignments of
various courses during 1st Semester. If you face any difficulty related to your Bridge Course, you may please contact your Programme Leader.

26. As the network issues may arise anytime anywhere, therefore, you are advised to do a crosscheck before start attempting the Proficiency Test, that all 100 MCQs
i.e. all five sections/subjects of 20 MCQs each are visible on your online Proficiency Test page by clicking on “To Attend” tab only (Here don’t click on “Start”
button to check that 100 MCQs are visible, because “Start” means starting of your online Proficiency Test). If all five sections with total 100 MCQs (20 MCQs
per Section) aren’t visible online to you, please immediately write to proficiencytest@amity.edu for the immediate resolution of your issue by
mentioning following:
