You can find further technical details in our data sheets. The Loadsensing Vibrating Wire data logger is a low-power, long-range wireless edge device. Two models are available: a 5-channel vibrating wire node where up to 5 vibrating wire sensors can be connected at the same time, and a single-channel vibrating wire node for a single sensor. We offer metallic versions of the single-channel and multichannel nodes. A polycarbonate version is only available for the single-channel node. The Loadsensing Vibrating Wire data logger can also be used as a standalone logger for manual monitoring. It can be configured easily and connected with a USB cable and an Android phone. Loadsensing Vibrating Wire devices are able to read most of the vibrating wire sensors of the market. These are used for geotechnical applications in civil works, tunnel construction, landslides and mining. worLo Ql sensinc ease th + TE ‘onecimuanasanangcam London Losangsies Singapore loadsensing® Eee) Vibrating Wire Logger Specifications LS-G6-VW, LS-G6-VW-1M, LS-G6-VW-1P Pus ‘Measurement method: embedded algorithms increasing immunity to noise, Excitation wave 4/-8V Measurement range 300 - 7000 Hz Resolution (-40°C to +85 °C) «0,01 Hz “accuracy (-40°C to +85 °C) Resolution and accuracy depends on the sweep, as follows: femea foots om ee Accuracy (20 °C) 0,05°C (0,04 % FS) Relative accuracy (900 to 1050 hPa at 25°C) +/- 012 hPa "Since firmware node version 2.43 resolution and accuracy have been improved according to the sweep frequency group. That way, you can perform an on-site radio coverage test at the same time. You will need to carry out the node configuration process using Loadsensing’s Mobile ‘App called Dlog, which is compatible with USB On-The-Go (TG) Android devices (please refer to the Dlog User guide for more details). To make sure the mobile app works properly, we recommend you purchase one of the models in stock from Worldsensing. Please contact the technical support team for more information. Diog starts up once you have connected the device to the data logger using an USB-OTS cable. You do not need to start it up manually. When a new version of the mobile app is available, Dlog will automatically display a message. The whole configuration process takes no more than five minutes. This can lead to data analysis challenges when you are analyzing data remotely, as it could be interpreted as anode or a sensor failure, among other things. To reduce noise or induced frequencies, we've implemented a configurable threshold. If the magnitude of the reading is above that threshold, the reading is taken as valid. If the magnitude of the reading is at or below the threshold, the reading is discarded and an error code is sent. When configuring the threshold note that: Only one threshold can be configured for all the channels. © Different sensors give different magnitude responses. © The excitation sweep influences the magnitude returned, so it is important to choose a ‘sweep frequency group instead configuring a custom sweep frequency within a wider frequency range. © The default threshold is set at a safe distance from noise, at 0.075 Hz, but there are sensors that work closer to the noise level, at 0.02 and 0.01 Hz. ‘Any value beneath the threshold will trigger a ‘missing sensor’ warning. You should consider changing the threshold when a sensor is present but reported as not detected, or when the magnitude of noise is higher than the threshold. When changing this setting, remember the ‘©The recommended threshold value is 0.02. ‘* Most sensors have magnitude values above 0.1. ‘© Some sensors can go as low as 0.03. worLo Ql sensinc ne = 4 London Losangsies Singapore 18 eres casi hid ener Eee) Cee Le * The noise level magnitude is usually under 0.01, When dealing with false errors, do the following in order: Make sure the node threshold is the default one. Make sure the sweep you have configured covers the range of the sensor. Try a custom sweep that fits the range of the sensor better, Lower the threshold to fit the magnitude given by the sensor. sawp In extreme cases, set the threshold to 0. This will disable sensor detection. Step 4: Sensors Data (Diog version 1.7.31) The Sensors data screen displays the current readings of the data logger. Itis important to avoid placing the data logger inside any type of container. This would affect the readings the barometer makes through the gore valve. If the vibrating wire sensor requires barometric pressure compensation (such as for piezometers installed in locations that may be affected by changes in barometric pressure), the current pressure readings from the barometer are usually used directly. Note that the transformation of the data (compensated by the barometric pressure) is done on the gateway drop-down menu from the particular node (see section 3.2 of the Gateway User Guide), If you want to use sea level atmospheric pressure (as commonly used in meteorology). you will need to correct the barometric readings using this formula: pe Where: o= pressure at sea level in mbars. p= current pressure reading. altitude = altitude in meters above sea level. worLo Ql sensinc ee = 4 London Losangsies Singapore 20 fetes he ser Eee) Cee ee Step 5: Radio Configuration (Dlog version 1.7.31) In this first step, you'll select radio settings as follows: * Radio off if you want to work on the standalone mode. * LS Radio for CMT Edge. * Multi-gateway configuration for CMT Cloud. The highest possible sampling rate is limited by the network size and vice versa. Smaller networks can read up to every 30 seconds and frequency is progressively reduced on bigger networks. Diog will show the available ‘sampling rates according to the network size chosen in the previous step. For more information regarding network size limitations, see the Tables, Number of nodes, Sampling rate and Slot time chapters in the Gateway User Guide. Select the Region that matches your LoRa region regulations. The same region must be applied in the gateway radio configuration. The Network Size is the number of nodes. We strongly recommend setting it to the final number of nodes that your wireless network will have, since this parameter determines the available sampling rates. Larger networks do not allow the selection of small ‘sampling rates. The correct configuration of your network size and sensor sampling rate is crucial to. prevent data transmission collisions, which results in data loss at the gateway. For more information, please check the Radio specification chapter in the Gateway User cul We recommend you set up the sampling rate from the gateway once the node has been configured, as the gateway will be able to optimize slot time radio communication. This is crucial to prevent data transmission collisions, which translates to data loss on the gateway. For further information, please refer to the Gateway manual. Dlog then checks the gateway (using an Internet connection) to see if these packets have arrived. Hence, the test will check for: * Correct gateway operation and communication. * Correct radio configuration of the gateway and data logger (including matching region and ID/password configurations). ‘© Quality of the signal received by the gateway from the data logger. By clicking the Next button, Diog will run an Online test. For the results of this test to be immediately displayed on the Android phone, the gateway and the Android phone must be connected to the Internet. To perform an Online test, the gateway serial number and remote access password must be available to Loadsensing Mobile App. The remote access password is used to protect the gateway from access via a local network or the Internet.
