CONCRETE

What is CONCRETE?

A paste and aggregate

combination is used to make
concrete. The paste that is
made of portland cement and
water covers the surface of the
fine and coarse aggregates.

The world's homes, schools, hospitals, airports, bridges, roads, and rail systems are
all built using concrete due to its strength, durability, and comparatively low cost. In
Philipines usually use hollow blocks with cement to build a liveable houses.
THREE APPLICATIONS OF
CONCRETE
WALLS
This photo is of our house, and I noticed
some smooth surfaces that felt glossy
because they were already plastered. I
assumed that the concrete in this picture
was a Class AA mix, which made me wonder
whether or not the walls of this house were
properly constructed using concrete. I also
asked my father what materials were used in
this wall, which appeared to contain gravel,
sand, and cement.
BEAM
The beam I noticed in our home is
slightly troubled because it has tiny
cracks, but it's not dangerous. When I
looked at the beam, I assumed that it
was a type of mix specifically made for
beams because of its hardness and
purity of aggregates and cement; I
found out this by asking my father how
much water they use to mix the
cement and gravels. Although it is not
straight and has some hairy cracks, I
can guarantee you that this beam was
constructed properly using concrete.
SLAB
The slab is already classified as Class A because of how
it looks and feels to the touch. If the beam is smooth,
the slab isn't because the paintbrush used to apply the
slab was like a sponge, creating a spike ceiling, or
because there was insufficient cement and gravel
mixture. Due to the slab's hardness and appearance, I
have come to the conclusion that it is correct since it
does not make a shallow sound when it is knocked.
