drilling" brand XY-3 drill rig. In order that you can accurately and

efficiently use the product, please pay attention to below important

information.

1. before using this rig, please read this manual carefully, it will help you

be more reasonable and effective to operate the rig.

2. in order to create more economic benefits for you, prolong the

service life of drill rig, please read this manual carefully, and strictly

enforce the rules of the instruction manual, operation, maintenance.

3. please do not arbitrarily modify rig, it would affect rig performance

or there may be an accident. It will also be difficult to fulfill "three

guarantees" service consequences.

4. due to the different geological conditions, this manual use

recommended by parameters may be different, it require the user to

choose according to actual situation.

5. The drilling rig can only be operated by workers who are familiar

with features and related knowledge of safe operation, maintenance

and repair. Operators must be trained, qualified.

6. The project should not exceed the provisions of the operating

instructions, otherwise it may cause the discount of rig performance

Overview
This instruction manual is use part of the rig. The content of this

instruction manual is for buyers and users of the rig as technical data.

The machine performance, on one hand, depends on the rig design,

manufacture and operation of my company's quality assurance system,

on the other hand, also depends on the correct use and maintenance.

I. working principle and application scope
Working principle: XY-3 drilling rig is a mechanical transmission

water well and exploration drilling equipment. Its working principle is:

the engine export and pass power through clutch, auto gearbox,

universal transmission shaft, to the rig transfer case. Again by transfer

case the power is passed to gyrator and winch. The gyrator drives the

spindle, drive rod and the drill rods. The winch is used to reduce the

drilling pressure, lift drill tools, put down well tube, and do percussion

sampling, etc. Drilling rig power can be separated into drilling force and

walking power.

Scope of application: XYD-3 crawler drilling rig is mainly used to drill

in medium& fine layer and normal soft rock layer, for agricultural

irrigation and industrial and agricultural drinking water well drilling and

exploration.

Attention:

Overload operation may lead to performance descending and

shorten the machine service life.

III Structure profile
The XY-3 drilling rig is mainly composed of the following parts: 1.

Winch, 2. Power unit, 3. Clutch, 4. Universal transmission shaft 5.

MW525HQ-1 automobile gearbox, 6. Hydraulic control valve,

7. Hydraulic chuck, 8. Gyrator, 9. Vertical feed cylinder, 10. Spindle,

11. Hydraulic oil tank, 12. Frame, 13. Drive retainer, 14. Bottom chassis.

As shown in the host image.

The power unit can be diesel engine or electric motor. Drill mast and

accessory tools are optional for the customers.

3.1 frame: angle iron as beam, the middle part is made of angle steel

and iron plate welded together. Upon the frame are fixed winch,

gearbox and its control valve handles and shield. The main role is to

connect winch, transfer case and gyrator together, make compact

structure, convenient for power transmission.

3.2 The clutch is single-piece dry friction taper clutch. It is mainly

composed of friction plate and pressure plate. Its role is transmission

power or uninstall power.

3.3 The transmission transfers rotary motion and change the rotation

speed. The input end connect to the clutch and the output end connect

to transfer case through the universal coupling.

3.4 Winch is composed of winch shaft, drum, planetary gear frame,

inner ring gear, center gear, improve system circle, brake, etc. Winch

system can do reduced pressure drilling, lift tool, put down tube, do

percussion sampling, set up drill mast, etc.

3.5 The gyrator is mainly composed of spindle box, spindle sleeve,

bearing, spindle, big bevel gear seals and oil cylinder. Gyrator’s rotation

drives the drive rod and drill tools, and the feed cylinders lift and push

the drill tools.

3.6 Transfer case is actually an auxiliary change-speed institutions,

with two handles on it. One handle can realize linkage and separation of

winch and spindle ; the other handle can change spindle to high speed

and low speed.

3.7 Mud pump is mainly composed of pump body, cylinder liner,

valve seat, valve cover, piston, piston rod, steel ball and seals, etc. Its main

function is to provide flushing mud for drilling work.

IV. Operation Method and Adjustment


4.1 Preparation before use

Before use please fill sufficient gear oil into water well drilling rig

gearbox ( L - CKC320 gear oil in summer, L - CKC220 gear oil in winter ),

and ZG-3 # calcium base lubrication grease into winch, clutch and

gyrator bearings. Check and tighten all connecting bolts, all moving

parts should be in flexible rotation. Fill L-HM32 hydraulic oil in the

hydraulic tank.

Important

1.Before starting the water well drilling rig, do fill

enough gear oil into the gearbox!!

2.Each time before starting the machine, do full

inspection to the drilling rig and ensure that the rig is in

good state. Otherwise, it may cause duty performance

degradation or shorten the service life of the rig.

3.The drill must be examined before starting to check if

the installation is correct & smooth, if the connection place

is safe and reliable. Ensure that the hydraulic tank outlet

valve is open.

4.2 Put all handles to the neutral position and start the engine, after

the engine is working properly, close the clutch handle to the "ON"

position and let the machine run idle for a period of time. Pull each

handle to inspect to check the rotation, separation and combination of

all gears.

Important Items

Speed change: when drilling rig is in rotation, do pull

the clutch handle to “OFF”position , cut the power

transmission and then pull change the speed. Otherwise, it

would damage the inner gears.

4.3 Choice of rotation speed

For the choice of speed, please follow the rule of high torque at low

speed, low torque at high speed.

The is no The specific requirements of selection of rig rotary speed.

Generally the speed is determined based on the experience of the

operator and different geological condition.

4.4 Stop the machine and matters

Before stopping the machine, workers should first lift drill tools from

the hole bottom, and then pull the clutch handle to “OFF”, cut the

power and put all handles in neutral position.

1.During drilling process, workers are forbidden
to seat or stand on the machine, or they may be twisted
into the machine and cause serious personal
accidents.

3 . Before inspection of machine, DO stop the
engine to avoid personal accidents.
4.5 Adjustment of the rig

All parts of machine have been adjusted properly before the rig leave

factory, operator don't have to adjust before use.

After use for a period of time, operator need to adjust the clearance

between winch brake bands and the winch roll. If the clearance is too

large and there is difficulty in brake, please adjust the brake band screw

and brake screw nut. The standard is that the clearance between brake

bands and winch roll is 1.5 ~ 2mm.

V Repair and Maintenance


Correct repair and maintenance are important measures to ensure

the normal operation of drilling rig, improve work efficiency and prolong

the machine service life.

Important items
1. Strictly in accordance with the provisions
&requirements for maintenance . Otherwise it will seriously
affect the performance of drilling rig and its service life.
2. Do check the machine state according to maintenance
schedule
3.The use and maintenance of diesel engine or motor, must
be strictly in accordance with the requirements of its
operating instructions.

5.1 Class maintenance ( Work 10 hours )

5.1.1 Check and tighten all connecting bolts, nuts. Check whether the oil

drain screw is loose.

5.1.2Check whether there is any defect on all bolts, cotter pins, replace if

necessary.

5.1.3Check gear oil, hydraulic oil, fill them if not enough, replace them if

it goes bad.

5.1.4 Check drill bit, repair or replace it if necessary.

5.1.5 Check if there is oil spill or blocking phenomenon, if necessary,

replace the paper pad or seals, wash the oil components.

5.2 Season maintenance ( One season )

5.2.1 Carry out all items of class maintenance.

5.2.2 Replace gear oil, hydraulic oil, completely clean oil tank, hydraulic

circuit and hydraulic components.

5.3 Year maintenance ( After one year )

5.3.1 Thoroughly remove dirt, sludge, grease from the drilling rig’s

surface.

5.3.2 Release all gear oil, disassembly and inspect, pay special attention

to the abrasion of the bearings. The parts must be cleaned before they

are installed back, and then inject new gear oil after installation.

5.3.3 Unpick and wash bearings , replace the oil seals, fill grease during

installation.

5.3.4 Open the gearbox and check the gear meshing and wear. The gear

should be replaced if there are wear and cracks on it.

5.3.5 Check the drill pipes and bits, repair or replace them if there is wear

and damage.

5.3.6 For long time preservation of the machine, please paint machine oil

on bare parts and exposed spline shaft for rust prevention. Non-working

surface peeling paint should be repaint in case of rust. The machine

should be put parked in ventilated, dry place.

Important item
When rig doesn’t run for long time, especially in winter,
PLEASE DO release all water in the mud pump. Otherwise, the pump
water will freeze and break the pump body, or the piston resistance
will be too large and damage parts of the mud pump and reducer
when the machine restarts. .

Attention
Before checking or replacing the machine parts, PLEASE DO
stop the diesel engine or motor.

Ⅵ Security Considerations
6.1 Please do maintenance of the diesel engine according to its

instruction book.

6.2 Please operate the drilling rig after careful inspection and reading the

manual.

6.3 The operator must go through formal training and be examined to

prove qualified, and then they can operate the machine.

6.4 Drilling rig are not allowed to run without operator nearby.

6.5 When machine runs, please keep safe distance from it, or flying

objects may cause personal injury.

6.6 If use motor as power unit, please ensure that the power supply

voltage and the connection is correct, the earthing is safe and reliable.

6.7 Operators are not allowed to work in unhealthy condition. Overload

operation is strictly prohibited.

6.8 Forbidden to stand under the hook.

Waring signs explanation

Sign 1
Sign 1 on both sides of the machine. It means when machine runs,
workers should keep a safe distance from the machine, or it may cause
personal injury accidents.

Sign 2 Sign 2 on the transmission shaft part. Do NOT stand close to

the transmission shaft when machine work, otherwise it’s easy to cause

personal casualty accidents.

Sign 3
Sign 3 on clutch cover and diesel engine belt cover. It means
please don ’ t disassembly the cover when machine runs, or it
will cause personal injur y.

Sign 4
Sign4 on diesel engine start part. It means before repair or maintenance

of the machine, please Do shut the engine and pull out the key.

Sign5

Sign5 on both sides of machine. It means any contact to the machine is

prohibited when it runs, in order to prevent danger.

Sign 6

Sign 6 on the gearbox and winch gear transmission part. When machine

runs, workers are forbidden to reach into transmission meshing position,

otherwise the safety accident will happen.

Attention
Please don't dirty or break the warning signs, if there
are any damage or loss, please contact factory for new signs
and stick back on the original position.
