Answer the following questions.

1. A teacher claims that the population mean score of students in his class is greater than 82 with a standard deviation of
20. If a sample of 81 students was selected with a mean score of 90 then check if there is enough evidence to support
this claim at a 0.05 significance level.

2. In auto racing, a pit stop is where a racing vehicle stops for new tires, fuel, repairs, and other mechanical adjustments.
The efficiency of a pit crew that makes these adjustments can affect the outcome of a race. A pit crew claims that its
population mean pit stop time is less than 13 seconds. A random selection of 32 pit stop times has a sample mean of
12.9 seconds and a standard deviation of 0.19 seconds. Is there enough evidence to support the claim at 𝛼 = 0.01?
