DIRECTED DRAWINGS
Creative Clips Directed Drawings are ready-to-go tools that
integrate art, sequencing, visual directions and more into your
classroom without any prep!

This pack of directed drawings is designed to be a flexible resource

that can be used by students independently or with support. A
variety of direction formats have been included so you can
differentiate for your students, based on writing stages or
reading ability.

SUGGESTIONS FOR CLASSROOM USE:

* Set up a “Directed Drawing” center and have students complete a
directed drawing and writing prompt. Choose the pages with the
lines that best fit your students’ writing stages.

* Cut apart the directed drawing picture cards and mix them up in a
bag. Have students put the pictures in order. Students could
practice coming up with their own written directions for each step,
integrating transition words and prepositions.

* Complete the directed drawing as a whole class. Project the

directions on the board and have students use construction paper
or art paper for a larger project. After students complete the
pencil drawing, have them trace the picture in black
marker or crayon. Students can paint, color and
add a background to make a unique masterpiece!

* Keep a binder of the full-page directed

drawing directions. Students can reference
them when they are making illustrations for
other projects if they are less confident in their
drawing skills.
