Formación del "present continuous"

El "present continuous" de cualquier verbo se compone de dos partes: el presente del

verbo to be + el "present participle" del verbo principal.

(Para formar el "present participle": raíz+ing, e.g. AL VERBO SE LE AGREGA AL

FINAL (ING) talking, playing, moving, smiling)

AFIRMATIVA

Sujeto + to be + raíz + ing

I AM TALKING.

YOU ARE STUDYING

HE IS SLEEPING.

SHE IS BUYING.

IT IS DANCING.

WE ARE COOKING.

YOU ARE PAINTING

THEY ARE EATING.

Para formar el presente continuo se utiliza el verbo auxiliar “to be” y el verbo+ing.

SUJETO AUXILIAR (TO BE) VERBO+ING

I am talking, eating, learning, doing, going…

he, she, it is talking, eating, learning, doing, going…

you, we, they are talking, eating, learning, doing, going…

Structure (Estructura)

1. Affirmative Sentences (Frases afirmativas)

Sujeto + verbo auxiliar (to be) + verbo + ing.

EXAMPLES: LEER EN VOZ ALTA POR FAVOR

1. I’m talking. (Estoy hablando.)

2. He’s eating. (Está comiendo.)
3. They’re learning. (Están aprendiendo.)
4. I am working. (estoy trabajando.)
5. You are playing. (Estas jugando.)
6. He is talking. (El esta hablando.)
7. She is living. (Ella esta viviendo.)
8. It is eating. (Está comiendo.)
