The concept and presence of religion in a society is generally beneficial. Yes, religious

extremists do exist who may potentially harm others, but the thing is, that this is generally

against the religion they follow. Religions such as Christianity and Islam come with strict

moral rules which are by-definition good for society and mirror laws that are formed today.

For example, in the 10 commandments of the Gospel, and multiple scriptures in the Quran

state phrases like: “Do unto others as you”, “Do not kill”, “do not steal” are essential practices

that make life more safe and pleasant for everybody. Additionally, people may harm others

without fear of consequences, as they believe life is short and finite, however, if one believes

in the presence of an Afterlife, they may tend to make better decisions in the hopes of

achieving an enjoyable post-life destiny. If in a society, where more people truly believe in

doing the right thing, the nation may be a more joyous place for all.
