Dear Admission Committee,

I'm really glad and thankful that I have the opportunity to express how I
became interested in fashion and the people and brands that inspire me on
this journey! I'm not an expert or a highly knowledgeable connoisseur, to be
honest. I don't know a lot about brands and high fashion, but I do have my
own perspective and experience with clothing. I'm from a very small city
called Villahermosa in Tabasco, Mexico. I consider myself an artistic
person. When I was in middle school, I used to enroll in every art event or
class I could find. I danced, sang, drew, and painted and didn't mind to
express myself in front of whoever was there. However, all of that changed
during my transition to adolescence. Some individuals experience a shift in
their social tendencies as they progress from childhood to adulthood. While
some may become more extroverted and outgoing, others, like myself,
undergo a different transformation. I found myself growing more insecure
about the various friendships I had, including those that had lasted for a
significant period. Initially, I dismissed it as a passing phase, but now, at the
age of 23, I have come to realize that I prefer to keep to myself more often.
At this stage in my life, I wouldn't label myself as insecure, but rather
discerning and I choose not to invest my time with individuals who bring
negativity into my life or criticize my personal choices in a non-constructive
way.
I have undergone numerous experiences that have molded me into the
person I am today. In my view, fashion serves as a beautiful means for
individuals to express the changes we undergo. Whether consciously or
not, we always dress according to our personal taste, mindset, available
resources, and even the environment in which we find ourselves.
When we reflect on our past, we can observe the extent of our personal
growth manifested in various aspects of our lives. For me, fashion stands
out as one of the most remarkable indicators of those changes. Right now I
may not keep up with every single trend, but I find it beautiful how an
individual or group of people wearing what they feel is right can sometimes
cause a domino effect that influences others. It's a nice way to connect with
people without using words. In a way, that's why I started to enjoy fashion
so much. Wordless expressions are very important to me because I think
there are times when the depth of a perspective, emotion, or thought can't
be fully captured by words.

One of the five inspirations I have
chosen to write about is the artist Ye. Ye
is renowned for being a highly
expressive individual who possesses
exceptional command over verbal tools,
as evident in his songs. Additionally, he
exhibits a remarkable ability to utilize
nonverbal expressions in innovative and
creative ways. This leads me to believe
that Ye is someone who maintains a
strong connection with his emotions.
One cannot disregard their emotional
side and create the works he does.
Furthermore, it is unlikely that someone
who does not experience emotions in
such a profound manner would become involved in the occasional
scandals that surround him. Indeed, Ye has openly discussed in his
songs how his intense and fluctuating emotions have both
contributed to his ability to create powerful and beautiful artistic
expressions and also placed him in less favorable situations. It seems
that his emotional volatility serves as a double-edged sword, fueling
his creative output while also exposing him to challenges and
controversies. This complexity adds depth to his artistry and offers
insights into the intricacies of his personal journey. Unfortunately, it
is true that many people tend to judge public figures based solely on
the most recent controversial headline or event, without delving
deeper into the entirety of their character or work. This tendency to
polarize individuals based on isolated incidents can hinder our ability
to appreciate their complexity and the multifaceted nature of their
contributions. For me it's important to approach artists with an open
mind, considering their body of work, personal growth, and the
context surrounding their actions. By doing so, we can gain a more
comprehensive understanding of who they are as individuals and the
impact they have made. While I may not have a complete
understanding of the nature of Ye's recent controversies, one thing I
do recognize is that artists are often fiercely protective of their visions
and this may not excuse his actions entirely, but it could partially
explain the motivations behind them. Ye has demonstrated an
eccentric character and possesses significant aspirations for his brand
and the impact he wants to make on the world. This drive and
ambition can sometimes lead to unconventional decisions and
behaviors but It is through this determination and relentless pursuit
of his creative vision that he has been able to accomplish remarkable
feats.

people and captivate them
regardless of fame, it speaks

who demonstrates a profound
interest in exploring various

was particularly interested by

truly captivating. It is evident

I'm moved by Virgil Abloh's

my own brand as well. I firmly
