SUMMARY OF FINDINGS

This chapter presents the summary of findings of the study.

Summary of Findings

The study aims to identify and analyze how the effects of using social media on verbal

communication of the Grade 12 HUMSS students of Padapada National High School.

As shown in the data gathered on the survey questionnaires, we have incorporated the social

media sites that respondents might utilize, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and

others that they can mention in their responses to our survey. 29 of the respondents use Facebook, 16

use Youtube, 15 use Instagram, and 8 use Twitter as their social media site. According to the results of

our survey, Facebook has the most respondents, indicating that this is the platform that students prefer to use

to communicate with others. Facebook is one of the most popular social media platforms, and we know that

the majority of people use it.

Facebook makes it possible for you to communicate with friends and family by sending

messages and updating your status. You can also distribute various forms of content, including

pictures and links. However, sharing content on Facebook differs slightly from other forms of online

communication. Its positive effect on verbal communication is that it makes it easier for us to

communicate with others, and it will make it easier to exchange important messages related to the

lesson and assignments that must be completed. Its negative effect on us may be misunderstanding

due to typos and errors that are said to others, which will cause us harm. It is also possible that your

said messages are intercepted, leading your interlocutor to believe that you are uninterested in what

he or she is saying. According to the information gathered through the survey, Facebook is the most

commonly used communication in the field of social media, and it is the best communication for

their studies. It helps to be "UPDATED" in the topical issues that help HUMSS students study

because we know how to adapt and how to win someone's heart because we already know where

they are talking about because we are current on what is going on. Misunderstanding is one of

Facebook's negative effects.

We improve our verbal communication by using various social media platforms. We can now

easily transfer important information and messages. It also has a negative impact on our

communication, causing misunderstandings due to the use of abbreviations and grammatical errors

in our message.
