Mark Zuckerberg

Mark Elliot Zuckerberg, is an American programmer and entrepreneur, president of

Meta Platforms Corporation, which owns applications such as Facebook,
Instagram and WhatsApp, among many others.

Zuckerberg was born in 1984 in White Plains, New York, at Ardsley College,
Zuckerberg had very good grades. He transferred to Phillips Exeter Academy, a
private school in New Hampshire, in his junior year, where he earned awards in
science (mathematics, astronomy and physics) and classical studies. As a youth,
he also attended the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth summer camp.

At the age of 11 he created an intranet where he connected all the computers in

his house called ZuckNet, this because his father was a dentist and worked on the
second floor of the house, to avoid having to be going up and down stairs he
created an instant chat program for his family.

In 2002, at the age of 18, he and his friend Adam D'Angelo created Synapse Media
Player, a music player with the ability to remember users' previous selections and
suggest new songs. It was so successful that Microsoft and Apple wanted to buy
the program and hire Mark, but he turned down the offers and enrolled at Harvard.

In his second year at Harvard he created Course Match, a program that allowed
students at the university to register for courses and preview the list and the
number of students enrolled in a certain subject.

Also at Harvard he programmed a website called Facemash.com where he graded

the photos of the students of the university, this brought him problems by
saturating Harvard's servers and because he was denounced for using the photos
of the students of the students of the university without authorization.

Mark Zuckerberg created Facebook during his time as a student at Harvard

University, but dropped out of classes when this social network began to gain
popularity. The idea was to create a social network that would replace printed
yearbooks.

Thefacebook, as it was originally called, became very popular among all Harvard
students and soon expanded to other institutions and reached all Ivy League
universities.

In 2004, Sean Parker, creator of Napster negotiated with Zuckerberg to create a

partnership on the condition of changing the name of the application to Facebook.
From there on Facebook has expanded to reach worldwide coverage.

Since 2021 the company Facebook ink, was renamed Meta Platforms ink, a
conglomerate of applications and social networks. They are currently working on
creating the metaverse, a digital universe of augmented reality.
