Comply with the instructions issued by the manufacturer of the water meter. 6.2. Agaregate Batching With the standard unit, batching gates are actuated by pulling levers. Aggregates are batched into the charging hopper which rests on the scale, Weighing action is cu nulative, 1.80 EZA 500/750 It is recommended to batch sand first in order to achieve a uniformly charged weigh hopper. With automatic aggregate batching the gates are actusted by air rams, Batching cally with the last mat is cumulative and ends automa ial that has been adjusted, Refer to the attached directions of manufacturer of automatic batching appliance. 6.2.1. Pneumatic System for Automatic Aggregate Batching ‘The pneumatic system constizutes a satfcontained sub: ‘assembly fed by a compressor set, Make sure that com: pressor can always take in fresh air unhampered. Maintenance Unit ‘The servicing unit comprises shutoff tap, an air cleaner with pressure reducing valve, 2 compressed air oiler and 8 frosguard or antifreeze dispenser unit. Air cleaner with pressure reducing valve Shutott tap Frostguard ry C ‘The chuteft tap is used to igolate the compressed air outlet line during maintenance work on downstream components, ‘The pressure reducing valve should be set to the operating pressure for the plant of 6 bars. ‘The air cleaner removes impurities and water conden- sate from the compressed air flow. ‘The oiler must always be kept filled with oil of 2-49 Engler viscosity at 50°C. It detivers cil mist to the airflow to lubricate all the items of pneumatic equipment in the circuit. ‘The frostguard adds @ proportion of alcoho! to the airflow to prevent freezing, It must be run when the temperature falls 10 +5 °C, For compressor, refer to the enclosed manufacturer's ‘operating instructions. 6.2.2, Vibrator ‘This is an optional extra If the unit stands idle for some time, or the sand is wet, there is a risk that the sand will not flow properly when the gate is open, on account of arching and packing, Switch on the vibrator at the button on the control panel briefly (see also details of controt system “Vibrator ON"). ‘To vary the vibrating force, see enclosed operating instructions of manufacturer, 6.3. Aggregate Weigh Batcher Before starting up check zero position of dial head of aggregate scale, Correct slight deviations by the calibration screw. Calibration screw, 1,80 ZA 500/750 A substantial plus-deviation may be caused if the weigh hopper is not completely empty. Heavy sceumuletion of dirt in the weigh hopper may also cause major deviations Major minus deviations may be caused when the weigh hopper of the lower part of the hopper tracks lacks ground clearance, viz, the hopper is unable to reach its lowest position. Make absolutely sure that main switch is OFF before working on or near the hopper elevator. Prevent the hopper from falling by inserting the loc! MAIN SWITCH 19 6.4. Cement Screw Conveyors The cement is fed from the storage bin to the cement ‘weigh hopper by a screw conveyor. Mind the follow-up action of the screw. This is the time interval when the screw, although its electric motor is switched off, still turns for a few seconds. Determine this additionally fect Setting of | coment weight, amount of cement wen initiating batching operation for the first time and adjust cement weight on dial head of ‘cement scale accordingly. For operating and servicing cement screws see enclosed directions of manufacturer, 6.5. Cement Batching ‘As with aggregate batching, first check zero position of indicator pointer before starting the batching operation. A calibration serew is provided to correct minor deviations, Calibration serew ZA 500/750 A substantial plus-deviation may be caused if the weigh hopper is not completely empty. Heavy accumulation of dirt and cement residue may also lead to major deviations. Trouble with proper emptying of weigh hopper may occur if the corrugated rubber sleeve with clamping ring, connec: ‘ting butterfly valve of hopper outlet and mixer, or the sir release hose are excessively dirty, Clean these connections between weigh hopper and mixer daily to eneure smooth flow of cement. The lower part of the tracks is designed as a weighing bridge, Hoisting of the charging hopper is achieved by 8 rope drive. The rope drum is arranged in an overhung position on the shaft of the gear box of the hopper hoist motor. All limit switches are factory positioned. Readjustment should be carried out by a skilled electrician only. Check correct setting from time to time. Rope drum ‘The hopper travel is controlled by limit switches wired in the auxiliary controt circuit of the hoisting motor. ‘The CHARGING position limit switeh Is actuated by the slack rope, Slack rope switch 7.1, Maintenance 7.1.1, Special Measures with Danger of Frost Empty water system during frosty weather or with tempe: ratures around the freezing point.
