Scope:
The purpose of this document is to describe the steps necessary receive and send tunables to
a MicroNet Plus. This process is used to maintain tunables or whenever a new .OUT is loaded
onto the control.

Required Tools:
1. Computer with the following Woodward programs installed
a. Control Assistant (3.08 or greater)
b. AppManager
c. SOS Servlink OPC Server
2. Standard Ethernet cable

Procedure:
Receiving Tunables

1. Retrieve the Tunable list from the control if the application is being updated on the
control or for tunable archiving. This is done using Control Assistant with SOS acting as
the OPC Server. The IP address of the control can be found using AppManager.

2. Open Win Panel in Control Assistant by selecting the “eye balls” icon. If SOS is not
already running and connected to the control it will open automatically. The IP address
of the control is saved in SOS from previous connections and can be edited if needed.
An OPC connection will be established. The control ID will appear in the WinPanel
window.

Loading New Code

1. If a MicroNet Plus CPU is being replaced the IP address and time synchronization must
first be configured. Use AppManager to view the IP address of the CPU. A MicroNet
Plus from the factory will have an Ethernet #1 address of 172.16.100.1 and Subnet
Mask of 255.255.0.0. To be able to connect to the control and change the network
settings the IP address of the computer connecting to the control must be temporarily
changed to a similar address. For example, 172.16.100.XXX would be acceptable to
connect to 172.16.100.1

A. Open AppManager, select the CPU that needs the network settings changed,
and select Control > Change Network Settings… (The MicroNet Plus will not
allow network settings to be changed while an application is running on that
CPU). When prompted, enter ServiceUser in the “Connect As” and “Password”
fields.

B. Select Ethernet 1 and change the IP Address and the Subnet Address. The
Gateway is left blank. The Ethernet 2 settings do not have to be changed
because Ethernet 2 port is not used in this application. After the CPU has
restarted the settings can be verified by selecting Control > Control Information.

Note: Above picture does not show a time server configuration(SNTP), which may not apply to
all applications.

2. Load the application with AppManager. Ensure the current tunables have been
downloaded and saved.

Application change only:

A. Back up the currently running application.

a. Retrieve the current application on the control using AppManager. This can
be done while the application is running. The application may also be
stopped first using the stop procedure (see B below).

b. Select the control you would like to retrieve the application from and click on
the Receive tunables button on the right hand side of the window. The files
can also be retrieved from the drop down menus by clicking Control>Retrieve
Files…

c. Enter ServiceUser in the “Connect As” and “Password” fields, then select the
.out file and click “Retrieve.” Navigate to the location to place the file in and
click “OK.”

B. Stop the currently running application.

a. Use AppManager and select which control you would like to load to on the left
side of the window then select the .out file on the right side.

b. Stop the application that is running by selecting “Stop the Currently Selected
Application”. Confirm this and when prompted enter ServiceUser in the
“Connect As” and “Password” fields. The control will not allow you to stop an
application while the turbine is running. STOP_PER in needs to be true in
_MASTER._SYS_INFO.SYS_INFO (in GAP) to stop the application.

CPU Replacement:

If a CPU needs to be replaced, the network settings on the new CPU need to be
configured and the application will be loaded on the new CPU only.

A. Load the application on the new CPU.

B. Navigate to the folder location of the new .out file. The browser folder will default
to only look for .out files. When the .out file is selected and “Transfer” is
selected, AppManager will transfer the .out file to the CPU. Select “Yes to All”
when asked if you want to replace the files with the same name.

C. Start the application by selecting the application in the right-side window. Select
“Start the currently selected application” to start the application on the new CPU.
This information will be available in the Status Window of AppManager.

After changing the application on the control, the default tunables need to be replaced
on the control.

1. Sending the tunable list to the control is done using Control Assistant
with SOS acting as the OPC Server. The IP address of the control
can be found using AppManager.

2. Open Win Panel in Control Assistant by selecting the “eye balls” icon.
If SOS is not already running and connected to the control it will open
automatically. The IP address of the control is saved in SOS from
previous connections and can be edited if needed. An OPC
connection will be established. The control ID will appear in the
WinPanel window.

3. Lock the IO when WinPanel is the active window (selected window)

and click on the Lock IO button. The control will not allow you to lock
the IO while the turbine is running. LOCK_PER in needs to be true in
_MASTER._SYS_INFO.SYS_INFO (in GAP) to lock the IO. Control

active window tunables to the control. Make sure that the correct
tunable list is selected if multiple lists are open in Control Assistant).
Control Assistant will prompt for a non-volatile memory save after the
tunable list is sent. Select YES.

6. Make WinPanel the active window and select “Reset”. Check the box

 There are times when the software will have tunable values that are changed
which can inadvertently be over written, such as when a default value has
changed in the new application.

 NOTE: The validation of the tunables should be done before any start attempts
are made on an engine. This is very important to ensure that nothing is
overlooked when reloading software into the control.
