While transferring viscera to the Chemical Examiner for analysis it i advisable to preserve the stomach and its contents together with a piece of the upper part of small intestine in one bottle, pieces of the liver and kidney in anothe bottle, and blood in the third bottle. These viscera are to be preserved ir methylated spirit supplied by the Government Medical stores. If methylated spirt examination. 4 is not available, rectified spirit, or a saturated solution of common salt is to be employed. A sample of preservative used either the methylated spirit or rectified spirit or the saturated solution of common salt-should always be sent for chemical analysis. Detailed instructions contained in the Hyderabad Police Manual should be consulted in regard to transmission of suspected substance to the Chemical Examiner particularly in case of death suspected to be due to poisoning. . The report should be completed as soon as possible after the autopsy and the original post-mortem report sent directly to the concerned Magistrate in a sealed cover, the Police being given a copy of It. . The post-mortem findings, or any other evidence in the case, should not be discussed by the Medical Officer with any unauthorized person but he should provide all facilities to the Investigating Officer. . Interested parties requiring a copy of the post-mortem report should apply to the concerned Magistrate for such a copy which should NOT be furnished directly by the Medical Officer.
