RÉDUCTION ON DÉPENDANCE ON FOREIGN AID.

The kibaki régime saw a reduction of Kenya's dépendance on western donor aid with the country being
increasingly funded by internally generated resources. This was achieved through increasing revenue
through increased tax rates imposed on the citizens of Kenya . This increased domestic revenue
collection and reduced the need for foreign aid. This also reduced Kenya's foreign loans which was
acquired from the world bank and other international loan organization.

He also expanded economic relations with other countries such as China, European countries and also
the Americas. This led to improvement in trading activities between Kenya and other countries. This
greatly boosted Kenya's economic progress due to the increased exports, this also expanded Kenyan
industrial income which Led to employment of many Kenyans who were skilled but lacked job
opportunities,, this resulted into increased domestic revenue collection over the period of his régime.

The government under Kibaki also successfully controlled inflation which had been a major concern
following the international economic crisis which Led to economic struggle in the world especially
developing countries in Africa, South America and some countries in Europe and Asia. This contributed
to a stable economic environnement

He also endorse liberation of key sectors like télécommunications and finance which attracted foreign
investment and stimulated economic expansion. As a great economist Kibaki during his régime attracted
foreign investors to invest in key sectors of the Kenyan economy. This placed Kenya in a great position
internationally and regionally. Kenya was able to be a self reliant country thanks to the great leadership
of the late former president Mwai kibaki.
