Eligibility & Application Who Can Participate Participation in the ASHRAE CHD program requires that an applicant meet education and work experience eligibility requirements and successfully complete the program's examination. Membership in ASHRAE is not a prerequisite to participate in the program, Completing and Submitting the Application To participate in the ASHRAE Certified HVAC Designer (CHD) program, a candidate must complete and submit ‘an application.
