Board advised that two pilot application may be undertaken - one in flood management and the other in land records (involving 3D data sets)- by GSDL for addressing the problems of the GNCTD Stakeholders in the respective domains, Brief concept notes on both the sectors, may be prepared by the Technical Advisory Committee of GSDL. Rohini Drainage System and Vasant Kunj could be possible areas for the demonstration of the pilots respectively. With regard to recent flooding, the chairman emphasized on development of GIS based Strom water and waste water management systems and suggested preparation/ development of GIS flood inundation models for all the three basins of Delhi starting with Najafgarh basin. ji, Board advised for re-looking at the proposed organizational structure of GSDL and designing it on the line of private sector GIS organization and the same may be modified with the emphasis on various technical verticals like Data Management (including data life cycles), underlying ICT Infrastructure Application Development; and Data Security etc. Board also advised for considering the extension of age limit for senior technical positions, even more than 60 years to hire suitable talented manpower for managing the operational activities of GSDL. Board further advised to approach the Technical Advisory Committee for preparing the organizational structure of GSDL as per discussion.2.
