Bangladesh is a developing country with a large population, low per capita income, steady

import/export imbalance, and an economy dominated by agriculture. The Cabinet of


Bangladesh is the chief executive body of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The Cabinet is
the collective decision-making body of the whole government under the Office of the Prime
Minister, made of the Prime Minister and nearly 31 Cabinet Ministers, 17 State Ministers, and
2 Deputy Ministers. A ministry consists of at least one division. A secretary is considered the
administrative head of the ministry. He leads and cares for the duties of a division, which
incorporates routine activity, management of its staffing, and organizational processes. He is
additionally the counselor to the minister regarding policy and administrative issues. The two-
level administrative system exists in the government of Bangladesh. The focal secretariat
comprising the ministries and divisions is the upper level, giving policies and performing
clearinghouse capabilities. The other level consists of ''line departments'' appended to the
ministries and divisions, which are mainly responsible for general administration, service
delivery to citizens, and execution of different government development programs at the sub-
national level. However, Bangladesh has been over 45 years, and it has not achieved significant
development. Sustainable development is a multi-faceted idea that envelops natural, financial,
and politico-social maintainability. To ensure sustainable development need strong political
willingness, ethics, professionalism, transparency, accountability, and the rule of law. Though,
Bangladesh wants to be a middle-income country by 2021 and a high-income country by 2050.
So, it is necessary to see how much Bangladesh has improved today till 2023 and to examine
the problems and challenges of public administration in Bangladesh and how we become a
middle and high-income country by the mentioned time considering all the components of
sustainable development.
