Software v1.0.504 is now available on the VTI Support & Technology SharePoint site. See Soft-
ware Update via Safe Mode 1000 Line for Safe Menu INST update instructions. Magicloader
#v326 contains this version of software for 1610DH printers and is also available in the VTI Sup-
port & Technology SharePoint site. This release replaces all previous versions and includes
fixes already deployed in those versions.

Software Update via Safe Mode 1000 Line

1. Download the zip file containing system files for the printer model if you do not already
have it.
2. Prepare a the USB memory stick with the files.
2.1. Confirm the Interface Type in use (Excel or 43s).
2.2. Insert a USB memory stick of no more than 4Gb into your laptop or PC.
2.3. Open the .Zip archive you downloaded.
2.4. Extract the needed .INST files to the root of the USB memory stick. You do not
need to include the other files in the archive, only the .INST files.

CSB Version and INST File Match

If you are unsure of which .INST file to use, place all .INST files for
the correct interface from the version archive onto the USB
memory stick. The printer will identify and extract the correct
INST automatically during the upgrade process.

2.5. Eject the USB memory stick.

3. Do a full system backup at the printer.
4. (1210/20 & 1510/20/30) Validate viscosity before starting the update. This information
does not save in the backup.
5. Power OFF the printer.
6. Hold down the right contrast key and Power ON the printer, still holding down the right
contrast key.
7. Enter the level three password.
8. Delete messages, configs, and Calypso.
9. Insert USB stick into the USB port located on the CSB.

 10. Power cycle the printer.
11. Select correct interface when prompted.
12. IF installing to the same software version and original software was not sus-
pected to be corrupt, select Full System Upgrade for messages and
configs. Otherwise, do not select Full System Upgrade for messages and configs.
