Model changes 1996-2003

Most if not all changes happened around 1997

If you look in the back tail fairing just behind the rear seat you will find a 3 pin plug so your dealer can fit an alarm more
easily.

Removed the anti vibration weights on the heel plates.

Did away with the black two-piece clip-ons in favor of one-piece alloy clip-ons.

More adjustment on the forks.

In 1998 the rear sprocket went up 1 tooth from 46 to 47 (i think )


47 tooth could be EURO / USA

Rev counter diagnostics

The Thunderace performs self-diagnostics on ignition and uses the rev counter to inform you of problems. If your 'Ace rev
counter flicks up to a certain value then returns, she's trying to tell you something:

3000rpm indicates a problem with the throttle position sensor

7000rpm indicates a problem with the EXUP valve or motor

8000rpm indicates a problem with the fuel level indicator circuit
