MRSA

 MRSA stands for the Methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus


 MRSA is a group of gram positive bacteria that are genetically distinct from other strains of
staphylococcus aureus
 Caused about 10000 deaths in human.
Spreading
 It spreads by physically contact such as touching, hugging, etc.
 It doesn’t spread through air but it can spread the far person if the infected person is
coughing.

Precautions:
 Perform hand hygiene before and after every patient contact
 Use and dispose of sharps safely
 Perform routine environmental cleaning
 Clean and reprocess shared patient environment.
 Follow respiratory hygiene
 Be away or wear the mask when patient is coughing.
 Clean and reprocess shared patient’s equipment s
 Use aseptic technique
 Where hands gloves
 Put on gown
 Handle and dispose of waste and used linen safety
