In our country, every people have different social standing depending on their wealth,
education, occupation, etc. But, let us focus on the situation of the families who live in extreme poverty
just like depicted above.

As I saw the first figure, one word that came to my mind was poverty. As a citizen, I am always
concerned about the circumstances that happen not just inside our country but in the world because all
of us are interconnected, especially in our economy. That is why economic development is a significant
factor in economic growth because it generates new career opportunities and promotes a higher
standard of living for current and future citizens by providing better access to opportunities (e.g.,
education) brought about by economic growth. In simpler terms, poverty will be minimized by creating
opportunities for everybody, in education or employment.

Every one of us is responsible for our economic well-being as well as the government. We must
take charge of it, and focus more on long-term outcomes which could help us to have a better life for
our families and for the next generations.

During the hype of the pandemic (lockdown), our economy is greatly affected. Plenty of business
entities have closed declaring it’s lost. In addition, many opportunities have ceased such as careers,
education, business opportunities and etc. This caused havoc to the daily living of every household and
establishment. But, the economy is gaining momentum despite the setbacks the coronavirus has
caused. Now, that our economy is recovering, people are now able to go out of their homes and
continue to gain income for their living. This increases their engagement in our economy. On the other
hand, business entities were able to adapt to what we called the new normal. Thus, all of this
contributes to our economic development.
