How is Jesus alive in today’s church?

Jesus is alive in today’s Church through its people.

We are all a part of the mystical body of Christ. Through baptism, we are adopted as God’s
sons and daughters. We become heirs to the throne, children of God.
But something even more beautiful happens through receiving the Eucharist. Christ offers us
his own flesh, his own blood. What is the one thing that families will have in common among
their members? The same flesh and blood. Through receiving the Eucharist, we are united with
Christ himself, body, blood, soul, and divinity, in a very real, very literal way.
When we become united in Christ, His words flow through us, His works are manifested in us.
The things we say and the things we do in a state of grace are Christ Himself revealing Himself
to the world.
So yes, Christ is alive, but He is hidden. He works in hiddenness. Hidden in the Eucharist.
Hidden in the tabernacle. Hidden in us.
I hope that helps, my friend.

Jesus is alive and well amongst all the faithful, we are His Church on earth, the Church Militant,
He lives through our actions. This is why He said we will go on to do even greater things than
He did, He wasn't making that up to make us feel better, we really can do greater works but He
uses our hands to do it. God bless.

Sacraments

Likewise, before He ascended He promised His followers that even though He was returning to the Father
“I am with you always unto the end of the age” (Mt. 28:20). This sounds like Jesus is saying His ministry
among us continues to this day! How can this be?

He is present with us. He has been present with us all year during this pandemic, during this
moment that has upended all of our lives. He has been with us. He is with us when we are
celebrating, and he is with us when we are grieving. He is with us, and he will keep coming to
us, no matter what we face ahead. It is our hope that he will be there to bring about new life,
resurrected life in whatever it is we face.
