Drafting
How to begin Drafting/drawing
• Click on Application button> click New > click Metric draft

• Drafting commands of the following will be opened
• To import the
geometry click
on view wizard
• Then you can select
the part or geometry
from where you
have saved.

• You can select size of paper by double clicking on sheet1

You can adjust the scale of the drawing.
To the scale, click on view> select the scale
Sectioning
• You can also draw sectional view of a given geometry.
• To section a given drawing First draw cutting plane line by clicking on
the view to be sectioned.
• Steps: Click cutting plane > click on view > draw cutting plane line >
close cutting plane > select direction of cut > click on section > click
on cutting plane you have drawn > position the sectional view and left

• You can also add detail by
clicking on detail

• Steps: click detail > click a

point where you want to add
detail > move mouse select
area to be covered > left
click> position the detail>
left click to end
Exploded View
• It is also possible to add an exploded view of an assembly.
• Open new Metric draft> using view wizard insert the Assembly and position it.
• Steps: First Explode an assembly > click Display configuration> click New > give
the name of explode> click on close and save. Then go back to metric draft and
click on View wizard > click ok > Click on Drawing View wizard options> click
on no selection and select explode (name you saved)> click Ok and position an
exploded view

Editing Title block
• You can edit or draw your own Title block
• Steps: click on View tab> click on Background > select the sheet you
are working on (A4 sheet, A3 Sheet etc) from bottom left corner >
double click on item you want to edit > after you complete editing
click Background.
