When a person does any work be it a simple janitor or something more

compilated like running a business, you would eventually run into problems which
will require some level of risk taking. Risk can either highly benefit you or put you
in a bad position. For this reason, most people would prefer to take as less risks as
possible but some will do the opposite. Overall, I believe that when you evaluate
advantages and disadvantages on what outweighs the other, it is very important
to take a look at the context of your situation.

The situation in which it is very beneficial for a person to take a risk is when the
worst outcome is not deadly. For example: if you decide to change something in
your employee's workflow, in the worst outcome they will just dislike it and voice
their opinion about it to you, after which you roll everything back to where it was
before. While you did lose your time and resources for sure, in the grand scheme
of things, you didn't lose much and learned what not to do in the near future,
which is very beneficial.

On the other hand, there are some situations in which you either win it all or lose
it all. These are the situations most people tend to avoid and I would argue that
it's one of the moments where disadvantages outweigh the advantages. A perfect
example of this is when a person bets all of his money on a casino in hopes of
doubling the money. While the potential benefits of winnings are high the
potential losses make this not worth trying.

Overall, it highly depends on the situation to decide whether or not the

advantages outweigh the disadvantages
