Answer for Case Study #1

If you are a team leader:

1. Self restoration. Accept the fact that the leadership position is given to you by God. First
examine your heart if it is cut off from God because of other team member’s reactions. Check if
you’ve lost focus on listening to God’s voice.
2. Even if you have to stop ministry for the whole day unify the team’s heart through worship and
prayer. Let this time not be directionless but be focused on unification among the team. Team
work will be established as you worship and pray.
3. Everyone must pray so that the unification comes from the discernment that God gives you and
not through personal emotions.
4. As you pray, seek diligently what God wants to do. It is also good to go into a prayer of
repentance for not loving each other.

If you are a team member:

1. If the team leader does not know what to do, suggest to the leader and then to the team
members to go into worship and prayer to focus on unifying everyone’s heart. Suggest to
carefully seek the Lord’s heart.
2. Suggest to pray to love each other by explaining that before we can serve and love the people of
this nation we must love each other.
3. Tell the others that they must submit to the leader that God has appointed and everyone is here
in order to support each other’s weaknesses. When this happens it will bring unity to the team.

Answer for Case study #2

It is most important for everyone to seek the Lord’s guidance at all times. Because of our inability to do
anything on the field the most powerful ministry is to stand as a worshipper for that nation.

Our goal is to worship in the nations that is without worship, and to pray and to bless that worshipper
will rise up. Ultimately preaching the Gospel to them. Where ever you go you MUST take the time to
bless that town, proclaim the name of the Lord, and to pray and worship.

You may do the things above at the highest point of the town you arrive in as well as quite areas such a
local park. Through this time you are able to seek to Lord’s guidance and seek His purpose for you team.

God will reveal His purpose clearly. Receive God’s guidance through the Spirit and the Word and you will
begin to experience God guiding you every step of the way. Move forth by worshipping and praying.
Evangelize and share the good news whether you get a chance or not.

Answer for Case Study #3

Even if your struggle is an individual struggle, it will affect the whole team. Take this time to learn how
to intercede for an individual in your body. Through this time of intercession, that person who is
struggling will learn to trust in their body. Through love and faith in each other you will begin to
experience the true church of God. In times of hardship it is a good idea to share with the team and ask
for intercession and have a time of worship. Even if the problem is something difficult to openly share,
you must share for the sake of the team. You are able to receive encouragement and strength from their
intercession and team will have a chance to unify and one body. If there is fear in your heart you will not
be able to focus to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Read the Word and meditate that there is no
fear in true love. Take some time to pray and seek for the true love of Christ. Your team will begin to
learn true fellowship of a body.

Answer for Case Study #4

If God really wanted the team to share the Gospel boldly there will be a unified heart among every
member of the team. Before you act upon anything, discuss and pray what the Lord is putting on
everyone’s heart. It is best to proceed according to what God has put on everyone’s heart through
prayer and through the Word. Strongly enforcing individual gifts will hinder team ministry. Even if you
are caught preaching the Gospel, you should NEVER lie. Just say you are here as a tourist but you just
had the heart to share the Gospel. Please do not lie.

*Please emphasize that you must never give individual gifting higher authority than team ministry.
Emphasize that they must never lie. It is normal for police officers to come and check on you. Please
have one person speak in very short sentences and do not give an impression that you know everything
about the questions that they are asking. If you don’t know anything they will send you on your way.

Answer for Case Study #5

If you witness a special relationship taking place, it is your responsibility to tell your team leader
immediately. If your team leader is the one involved, please kindly address the issue with them and
suggest the team to pray together. If the issue is not resolved, it is best to bring this issue up with the
teachers serving you, so the team can continue unhindered in ministry.

If you were Amanda, if you feel you’re able to resolve the situation in a constructive manner yourself by
talking to Dan, please do so but also please let the FO Team Leader or the teacher know so they can be
watchful of the situation as well. If you do not feel comfortable confronting the other individual, please
bring up the situation to your FO Leader or teacher and ask them to help resolve the situation.

Special relationships are not allowed in any circumstances on FO. FO is a time dedicated to serve the
locals and give your full attention to the locals. Special relationships can be a huge distraction to you and
your team, causing division and lack of focus on the mission at hand. If a special relationship is taking
place, it is the responsibility of the team members to address the issue immediately.

Even before your trip, your expectation or goal should not be focused on pursuing a relationship with a
teammate. Please guard your heart and prepare so that you will focus solely on sharing the Gospel.
