Introduction

The aim of the project is to explore human resources, the positive and negative impacts and how
different factors develop human resources. By examining human resources development a evaluation
will be shown on how education develops human resources.

4
What are Human Resources?

This refers to individuals living in a particular area and their skills, abilities and talents they possess that
contributes to their community or society economy. People such as teachers, doctors, farmers, engineers,
scientist all have skills that they use to provide goods or services. They play a key role in shaping public
policies, addressing social issues, and advocating for marginalized populations. They transmit
knowledge, critical thinking skills, and an understanding of society to students, shaping future
generations’ perspectives and societal contributions. Human resources are developed through culture,
sports, nutrition and health, and education.

5
Three Positive impacts associated with a society
developing it’s human resources… .

 Improved Health and Well-being: Education and training can lead to better health
outcomes, as educated individuals tend to make healthier lifestyle choices. Developing human
resources for health is necessary to the society. Only by securing a sufficient, equitably
distributed and adequate support cam health goals set by communities or the government be met.
Ensuring the health and well-being of all is essential to achieve sustainable development, good
health allows individuals to reach to their full potential, learn better and work to be more
productive. Health is also essential for the stability of the society as pandemics can have huge
impacts on families, communities and economies.
 A healthy population tends to live longer, which means that individuals can accumulate
more knowledge and expertise over their lifetimes. This experience and wisdom can be
harnessed for the benefit of society, including in leadership roles and mentorship.
 When a population is in good health, individuals are more likely to be productive in the
workforce. Healthy workers are less likely to be absent due to illness, and they can
perform their job duties more effectively, contributing to economic growth and
development.

 Cultural Enrichment: Developing human resources can lead to the preservation and
enrichment of a society’s cultural heritage and traditions, promoting a sense of identity and pride.
Cultural experiences shape our lives in many ways. From the books we read to the places we
visit, culture influences how we make sense of the world. For example: As a governor, you’ll
have the opportunity to apply your unique cultural wisdom in ways that enrich the lives of the
next generation. Cultural enrichment often involves the exchange of ideas, art, and traditions.
Exposure to different cultures often leads to speaking multiple languages. Being proficient in
multiple languages can be a valuable skill, enhancing an individual’s ability to communicate,
work and do business for personal and economic development.

6
 Art and Music: Cultural enrichment through art and music can stimulate creativity and
provide an outlet for self-expression. This can lead to the development of talents and
skills that benefit society, whether through the creation of art or the development of
cultural industries.
 Diverse Workforce: Embracing a variety of cultural backgrounds in the workplace can
lead to a more diverse and skilled workforce. Different perspectives and experiences can
enhance problem-solving and innovation.

 Innovation and Creativity: Educated and skilled individuals are more likely to generate new
ideas, innovations, and solutions to societal challenges, fostering progress and development.
Investing in human resources is more likely to foster innovation. As individuals are equipped
with the knowledge, skills and talents to create new products industries become adaptable
leading to economic growth. Innovation and creativity contributes to the overall advancements of
a society, this include improvements in infrastructure, and quality of life shaping the collective
human resources of a community. Entrepreneurs and businesses that think of ideas create job
opportunities, enhancing of the workforce.

 Skills Training Apps: Innovative mobile applications like Duolingo and Skillshare
offer creative and interactive ways for individuals to acquire new skills and enhance their
capabilities.
 Professional Development Platforms: Platforms like LinkedIn Learning and
Udacity provide innovative professional development courses and certifications, allowing
individuals to continuously grow and evolve in their careers.

7
Three negative impacts associated with a society failing
to develop its human resources… … … .

 Lack of improvement in agriculture: The lack of improvement in agriculture can lead to

various negative consequences. Insufficient agricultural progress hinders the development of
human resources by limiting access to nutritious food and medical herbs. This can contribute to
increased health problems and diseases related to malnutrition due to inadequate dietary options.
Additionally, a stagnant agricultural sector may impede the expansion of land for cultivation,
exacerbating shortages in housing and limiting space for entrepreneurial activities, hindering
overall economic development.
 In areas lacking advanced irrigation, water scarcity can impact crop production. Limited
access to modern farming machinery and technology further hampers efficiency and
output. Additionally, a lack of investment in agricultural research and education may
hinder the adoption of innovative practices, contributing to stagnant productivity in the
sector.

 Increase in violence: The increase in violence in a society can be linked to the insufficient
development of the skills of law enforcement officers and security personnel. When police
officers lack the necessary training and skills, they may struggle to effectively address and
prevent crime. Moreover, the absence of well-developed security skills within a society can
create a vacuum of protection. Communities may become vulnerable to criminal elements, and
without a robust security infrastructure, murders and other violent crimes can proliferate. This
deficiency in law enforcement capabilities can create an environment where criminal activities,
including violent acts, go unchecked. Investing in the continuous training and development of
police officers and security personnel is crucial for maintaining law and order. This involves
providing them with the necessary tools, knowledge, and skills to handle diverse challenges in a

8
professional and measured manner. A well-trained and skilled security force contributes not only
to crime prevention but also to building trust between law enforcement and the community,
fostering a safer and more secure society.

 Over population: Overpopulation strains a society’s capacity to develop human resources by

limiting access to education, increasing unemployment, pressuring basic services, intensifying
competition, contributing to environmental degradation, and straining social services. This can
result in disparities, reduced opportunities for personal and professional growth, and potential
social unrest. Effective population management and investments in education, healthcare, and
infrastructure are essential to address these challenges and foster sustainable human
development.
 Limited Access to Education: Overcrowded conditions can lead to inadequate educational
resources. Schools may be overwhelmed, making it difficult to provide quality education
to all individuals. This limitation in educational access hampers the development of
essential skills and knowledge needed for personal and societal growth.
 Unemployment and Underemployment: A surplus of people in the job market can result
in high levels of unemployment or underemployment. This makes it challenging for
individuals to find suitable employment opportunities that match their skills and
qualifications, hindering their economic contributions and potential.

9
Critical evaluation on how human resources
are developed through education…. …

Human Resources development relies heavily on the educational system. This is one of
the primary reasons why it is more cost-effective for businesses to employ skilled
workers rather than inexperienced ones. Education plays a critical role in shaping the
knowledge, skills, and competencies of Human Resource professionals. These contribute
to the development of human resources:
 Performance Management: Education is also important in performance
management, which is the process of evaluating employee performance and
providing feedback to help employees improve.
 Employee Engagement: Education is an essential tool for improving
employee engagement as it provides employees with opportunities for personal
and professional growth. This includes opportunities for career development,
skill-building, and knowledge enhancement. By investing in employee education
and development programs, organizations can improve employee morale and job
satisfaction, resulting in increased engagement and higher productivity.
 Training and Development: HRD is responsible for the training and
development of employees to improve their job performance and enhance their
career growth. Education is a key component of this process, as it provides
employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in their jobs.
 Recruitment: Education is an important factor in determining the eligibility of
candidates for various job positions. Education qualifications, such as degrees or
certifications, are often used to filter out candidates who don’t meet the minimum
requirements for a job.

Human resources are developed through education by providing individuals with knowledge, skills, and
abilities essential for professional and personal growth. Educational systems offer formal instruction,
practical experiences, and opportunities for critical thinking, fostering a well-rounded development of
individuals. This includes academic curricula, vocational training, and continuous learning programs

10
that contribute to the enhancement of human capital and prepare individuals for diverse roles in the
workforce.

Summary

Human resources refer to individuals and their skills contributing to society.

Positive impacts of developing human resources include improved health, cultural
enrichment, and innovation. Negatively, a lack of agricultural progress can lead to
health issues, insufficient security skills may increase violence, and
overpopulation strains societal resources. Education is crucial for human resource
development, impacting performance management, employee engagement,
training, development, and recruitment. It equips individuals with knowledge and
skills, fostering overall personal and societal growth.
