Study of jet modifications in heavy-ion collisions

using multi-stage energy loss mechanisms
Content
In this contribution, we investigate the jet sub-structure modifications using the jet fragmentation function
and jet energy loss mechanism using the nuclear modification factor in heavy-ion collisions. Jet fragmenta-
tion function describes the longitudinal momentum distribution of hadrons inside a reconstructed jet. These
measurements provide insight into the jet quenching process in the quark-gluon plasma(QGP) created in the
aftermath of ultra-relativistic collisions between the two heavy nuclei. We employ Jet Energy-loss Tomogra-
phy with a Statistically and Computationally Advanced Program Envelope (JETSCAPE) framework to depict
the jet quenching phenomena and to analyze the multi-stage jet evolution in QGP medium. In this work, Pb-
Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV and Au-Au collisions at √sNN = 200 GeV are produced using the JETSCAPE
framework for various jet energy loss models, including MATTER and LBT. Furthermore, jet interactions are
compared for two centrality classes ranging from 0 to 10% and 50 to 60% in both QGP medium and vacuum to
investigate the nuclear modifications. We further examine the coherence effects in heavy-ion collisions that
reduce the medium-induced emission rate at RHIC and LHC energies and also report the dependence of the
transverse momentum of jets while comparing the different energy loss mechanisms.
