A military storage area is located 2.5 kilometers (km) northeast of Bira (Figure 1) which is approximately 175 km west-northwest of Khabarovsk on the Bolshaya Bira River ‘and approximately 100 km north of the Chinese border. The storage area covers 15 acres and contains 1 drive-in storage building, 6 probable storage buildings, and 6 support buildings. The storage area is secured by 2 wire fences and a possible guard tower is located between the road and rail entrances (Figures 2 and 3). A second secuted possible military storage rea located 1 kin east of Bia and just south of Area £1 contains possible storage buildings.
