Instruction:
1. Choose a literary period.
2. Research the key information (characteristics, notable
authors, important works).
3. Include visuals and examples from literature to illustrate the
characteristics of that period.

4. Present it using a PowerPoint presentation (Min. of 5 slides
and Max. of 8 slides).
5. Prepare 5-item questions for the quiz.

(Note: Leaders will send me the questions with answer keys


about their presentation for encoding on Google Form).
Literature
-is a body of work that can be written, oral, or visual,
containing imaginative language that realistically
portrays thought, emotions, and experiences of the
human condition.
Importance of
Literature
Why study literature?

Reading and studying Literature in very important for various


reasons as outlined by (Shimmer Chinodya, 1992:36).
1. Literature improves your command of language
2. It teaches you about the life, cultures and experiences of
people in other parts of the world.
3. It gives you information about other parts of the world which
you may never be able to visit in your lifetime.
4. It entertains you and provides useful occupation in your free
time.
Importance of
Literature
5. It makes you a wiser and more experienced person by forcing
you to judge, sympathize with, or criticize the characters you
read about.
6. It gives information which may be useful in other subjects, for
example, in Geography, Science, History, Social Studies, and so on.

WORLD LITERATURE

• Is considered in global context.


• It suggests to the sum of total world’s national literature and
also the circulation of work into the wider world beyond
country’s origin.

• Also known as ANGLO-SAXON PERIOD
• Most literatures are ORAL.
