Analysis

1. Which among the different institutions has the greatest influence on you?

Among the different institutions, the one that has the greatest influence on me is the family.

2. Which among them has less influence?

Mass media has the least influence on me among the different institutions.

3. What are their positive affects?

All the different institutions included in this activity have positive influence on me. It is in the
family that I first learn my values and develop my character. Additionally, it is the school that
prepared me for life and set my standards of morality. Peers also contributed to my social
and emotional development. Lastly, mass media also influenced me sometimes. What I see
in the media may alter or change my behavior and perception about something or someone,
and made me more aware and open-minded.

4. What are their negative effects?

There are two sides of the coin. If the different institutions have positive influence on me, it
would too good to be true if there’d be no negative influence. The way my parents reared
me and behave around me is being imitate by myself. There are certain behavior of my
family that is quite toxic but I had inherited. In school, there were beliefs of mine that
doesn’t conform to the beliefs of the school; hence, creating a conflict on how I behave.
Peers sometimes bring pressure that I often find hard to resist. Lastly, mass media displays
inappropriate acts that I sometimes imitate and there are judgment and criticism that I
throw to someone or something just because media draws that thing or person as someone
negative.

5. What significant learnings/insights have you gathered from this activity?

I have learned that there are different institutions that both have positive and negative
influence on me. They also contribute to my self-development.
