Course Objective: The objective of the course is to understand the different issues involved in
the implementation basics of MS Word-font, Formatting, Paragraph and Line spacing, Margins,
Ruler, Working with lists, mail merge. This course helps to study about different types of cells
referencing,Creating and using name ranges, simple formulas, Rearranging the data, cut, copy,
paste, special, auto fill, transpose, saving and closing workbook. This course emphasizes
developing an understanding of PowerPoint, Designing presentation with available features,
internet, and Introduction to OS.

Prerequisite: Basics of Computer.

Course Outcomes: After the completion of the course, students will be able to

CO1 Utilize and evaluate documents much faster and more effectively with the application of
computers to make document exchange much easier.
CO2 Review and apply references of previously decided cases of legal undertakings including
considerable legal study.
CO3 Identify and practice legal documents scanned and kept in computer systems during electronic
use.
CO4 Predict and evaluate documents much faster and more effectively by application of the operating
system.
CO5 Investigate through Computers and Differentiate legal decision discovery initiatives which
includes references to previously decided cases.

Module I: Computer Fundamentals [7 H]


Definition of Computer, Function of Computers, Evolution of Computers, Basic anatomy of Computers,
RAM, ROM, Software, Component of Computers, Operating system: Windows 10 features and
components.

Module II: Microsoft WORD [8 H]


Introduction to MSOffice, Basics of MSWord-font,Formatting,Paragraph and Lines pacing,
Margins,Ruler,working with lists, Inserting Header and Footer, use of newspaper column to insert
image and other documents, Working with pictures, graphics and tables, Long documents and
advanced features of word, Create bookmarks, captions and cross referencing, adding hyperlinks,
adding sources and compiling and bibliography, Mail merge: Creating and editing your main document

formatting, Calculations of data based on formulas and functions, Working with Mathematical,
Statistical, Text, Date and Time format, Calculations and advanced features, command. Printing and
Protecting worksheets: Adjusting margins, creating headers and footers, setting page breaks, changing
orientation, creating portable documents and printing data and formulae.
Implementing file level security and protecting data within the worksheet,understanding error

clip-arts, moving texts, entering graphs, organizing charts, customizing presentations, adding
predefined shapes, creating slideshows, creating custom animations, rehearsing slide timings.

Module V: Internet & Introduction to modern business technologies [7 H]


Brief idea and history of Internet, Network devices, Protocols, Web browser, Introduction to Email,
Working procedure of Email, Email Security, Email Gateway, Email encryption. E-business, Drive
storage and other online tools for business

Module VI: Online information, Legal Data Source, Electronic Courts and Reporting [7 H]

Use of online legal information for study, sharing of online information, access of online data. Evolution
and operation of electronic court, electronic law reports and conduction of electronic court, delivery
of electronic judgments and its effects in traditional legal system.
