Synonyms and Antonyms

Synonym:

A synonym is a word or phrase that has a similar or identical meaning to another word or phrase in
the same language. In other words, synonyms are words that can be used interchangeably in certain
contexts because they convey the same or a very similar meaning. For example, "happy" and
"joyful" are synonyms because they both express a similar feeling of contentment or pleasure.

Antonym:

An antonym, on the other hand, is a word that has the opposite meaning to another word.
Antonyms are words that contrast with each other in meaning. For instance, "hot" is an antonym of
"cold," and "happy" is an antonym of "sad." Antonyms are often used to emphasize differences or to
provide a contrasting perspective in writing or speech.
