Churches in Central Visayas

1.) Basilica del Santo Niño

The holiest church in Cebu houses a Flemish statuette of the Christ child (Santo Niño)
that goes back to Magellan’s time. It is established in 1565, which is also the first church
in the Philippines.
2.) Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral

Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral is a wide religious structure of Spanish colonial design. It


was built between the 17th and 20th centuries, it’s among the most important emblems of
Catholicism in the Philippines.
3.) Simala Shrine

This church is located in Sibonga Town, Southern Cebu. Simala is a place for people
who believe in miracles. This church has been known to be miraculous. It was built in
1998 by the Marian Monks from Pampanga. It used to be just an ordinary church until
after the incidents of miraculous events.

4.) Archbishop Camomot Shrine

The shrine of Archbishop Teofilo Camomot lies in Barangay Valladolid, Carcar,Cebu. It


is maintained by the nuns of the daughters of St. Teresa whose convent stands inside
the compound. People who sought the intercession of the good monsignor for the
healing of their illnesses had their names carved on the trunk of each tree inside the
area.
5.) Senior Santiago Parish Church

It is also known as Plaridel Church or Quingua Church, is a 15 th-century Roman


Catholic Church inder the patronage of Saint James the Apostle and located along at
Gov. Padilla Street, Barangay Poblacion, in Plaridel, Bulacan, Philippines.
